Snickers Is Dropping a New Banana Nut Bread

Snickers has been going all-in on Halloween candy lately. The brand has already been loading up Walgreens shelves with a lot of Halloween candy bars. But just when it seemed like Snickers had covered pretty much every Halloween candy angle, the brand has another seasonal surprise waiting in the wings. And even before it drops officially, fans are already hyped.

A Bit Different Snickers Seasonal Bars

The classic Snickers bar already has most of the ingredients needed for a banana bread-inspired candy. There are peanuts for the nutty crunch, caramel for that buttery sweetness, nougat for the soft center and milk chocolate wrapped around the whole thing. 

The timing is also interesting. Snickers has recently released a couple of Halloween bars including Pumpkin Halloween Candy Bars, Halloween Chocolate Bars, Original Pumpkin Single Halloween Candy and even the Halloween Candy Bars Peanuts, Caramel, Nougat, & Milk Chocolate. So, it was high time Snickers dropped something a bit different.

The First Reactions Are Already In

Shoppers have reported finding the new Snickers in Walgreens stores before the official release date. The reactions are mostly positive, although the banana flavor seems to be more subtle than some people might expect from the name. One early taster on @snackolator’s Instagram post described it as tasting much like a regular Snickers with a light banana flavor.

On Reddit, the reactions are also pretty similar, with some picky eaters loving the Snickers Banana Nut Bread.

Walgreens Gets The First Bite

The new Snickers Banana Nut Bread is set to launch at Walgreens on September 18th, giving the drugstore chain first dibs on this unusual candy.

Walgreens lists the Snickers Banana Nut Bread Chocolate Candy as a 1.42oz, which makes it smaller than the Snickers Singles Size Chocolate Candy Bars.

For those with allergies, keep in mind that the new Banana Nut Bread contains peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg and soy.

Will It Actually Taste Like Banana Bread?

I guess the big question on the minds of many is: will the Snickers Banana Nut Bread actually taste like a banana bread? Snickers brings peanuts, caramel, nougat and milk chocolate while Banana bread brings the unmistakable sweet flavor.

Mars has played around with something similar like the Banana Nut Bread Peanut M&M’S. So the new Snickers feel less like a completely random experiment and more like another attempt to try something fans have loved.

The Snickers Banana Nut Bread Chocolate Candy is scheduled to arrive at Walgreens on September 18th.
