When I think of Snooki from MTV’s Jersey Shore, I don’t think of Cheez-Its. Instead, I think of early 2000s ads for “bump its” (she wasn’t in those ads, they just remind me of her famously poofy hair). But that’s about to change! Because a limited number of new Cheez-It boxes will feature either Snooki or, another reality TV icon, RuPaul (from RuPaul’s Drag Race, obv). For one week only, you can buy a box of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi or RuPaul Cheez-Its online as part of Cheez-It’s Reality TV Collector’s Cheddition.
Why are they releasing Snooki and RuPaul Cheez-Its, specifically, and what does reality TV have to do with Cheez-Its?
As I understand it, there are a couple different reasons Cheez-It has chosen to make reality TV-themed cheese crackers. Firstly, Cheez-Its are proudly made with REAL cheese (their slogan is “real cheese matters”), and reality TV is supposed to be about the real lives of real people (although we all know that’s not always the case). Also, the reason Cheez-It chose to feature these specific reality stars is that both Snooki and RuPaul are known for being a little salty at times, and for always keeping it “100% real” (get it? Just like Cheez-Its!).
So how can you get one of these Snooki or RuPaul Cheez-It boxes? Well, pre-orders are already sold out since opening on September 15. But never fear: The company is releasing more every day next week (starting at noon ET each day) until Friday, September 23. So you still have a week to try and snag a box of the world’s realest, saltiest, poofiest-haired Cheez-Its—but don’t wait around. Cheez-It has warned us to “act fast, as it could get really real with fan-favorite boxes possibly selling out faster than you can reach the TV remote.” So in the immortal words of RuPaul: “Racers, start your engines, and may the best drag queen win.”
