It’s Guacamole Chip Summer, apparently. First, Doritos brings back their fan-favorite(?) guacamole chips that definitely didn’t look moldy straight out of the bag. Now, Pringles is launching a flavor that certainly looks new: Spicy Guacamole Pringles. Let’s dig into the history of this dip-flavored Pringle—if we can get our hand into the tube, that is.
Is Spicy Guacamole a new Pringles flavor or not?
While Spicy Guacamole Pringles certainly sounded new, a little research revealed that this Pringle flavor is almost twenty years old. Back in 2015, The Impulsive Buy referenced this flavor first launching in 2007. So this isn’t a new Pringles flavor, but we haven’t seen it in stores for close to ten years—welcome back, Spicy Guacamole Pringles.
That same post from The Impulsive Buy revealed the price of a can of Pringles at Meijer in 2015 was $1.50; today, a can of Pringles at Meijer will run you $2. According to the first inflation calculator I found on Google, $1.50 in 2015 is worth $2.03 in 2025—almost dead-on to the Pringles price change! This is where I’d tell you Pringles are inflation-proof…if the cans didn’t get smaller. Those $1.50 cans of Pringles in 2015 were 5.96 ounces, while 2025’s $2 cans of Pringles are 2.5 ounces! Do the math, sheeple.
Where did this information come from?
In a word? Instagram! Junk food newshound Markie Devo posted this development earlier this month. Markie’s got a good track record for reveals like this, plus the never-before-seen product image in his post is in the modern Pringles style. Checking out the Google Images results for “Spicy Guacamole Pringles” will show you some downright vintage Pringles can designs (see: the header image of this article).
Where can I get Spicy Guacamole Pringles?
At this time, there’s no specific information regarding which retailers will be stocking Spicy Guacamole Pringles or when they’ll be available. That said, Markie’s post stated that they’d been spotted in a Stop & Shop supermarket. Considering Stop & Shop has never had an exclusive Pringle flavor before now, I imagine we’ll see these hit a broad array of stores nationwide sooner rather than later. Like many other products, it’s a safe bet that these will hit Walmart. If you’re desperate to try these new returning Pringles (again or for the first time), head to that big blue big-box store.
