This summer seems like it’s the summer of Tajín. And you know what? I’m here for it. Tajín is so good. Now, while we’ve been on the idea of fruity and spicy, brands were a little slower to pick up on what the people wanted, like Wingstop’s chamoy flavor drop a couple of months back. And now, we’ve got Taco Bell taping into that fun heat with new Tajín menu items.

This is a major collaboration for Tajín as it marks their biggest partnership with a fast food giant. So, we’re pretty excited to see how this goes and if this maybe means some more Tajín in Taco Bell. (I still want the potatoes back though, so I mean, Tajín’s great, but potatoes, too, please).
Tajín On Classics
For the menu items, Taco Bell took some classics and gave them a fun Tajín twist. There’s a taco, a cheesy gordita crunch, and a freeze (because who doesn’t love a Tajín drink. I’m thinking a little tequila would make this new drink perfect). So just how is the Tajín flavoring these things? Let’s dive into the menu drop.
The Tajín Taco features a crunchy shell seasoned with Tajín and loaded with seasoned beef, Spicy Ranch sauce, crisp lettuce, shredded cheese and mango salsa. The Tajin Cheesy Gordita Crunch is a fun twist on a beloved classic. It layers a pillowy flatbread with a blend of mozzarella, pepper jack, and cheddar cheese wrapped around a Tajín-seasoned crunchy taco shell and filled with seasoned beef, Spicy Ranch sauce, crisp lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese and mango salsa. The taco and the gordita both come with a Tajín Clásico Seasoning packet. Which is great―if you want more Tajín flavor, you don’t have to provide your own Tajin.
And A New Drink
As for the Tajín Pineapple Strawberry Freeze, you’ve got a perfect blend of tropical pineapple and sweet strawberry mixed with the heat of Tajín. I’m a little curious as to why pineapple and strawberry was the flavor they went with when mango is right there. The taco and gordita both use mango salsa so it would have been a perfect tie in. Maybe a mango freeze just wasn’t working well? (Doubt it. Mango smoothies are so good. A mango and Tajín freeze wouldn’t been so good.)
What do you think of the new menu items? Are you ready to head out and try them? The new menu releases August 13th nationwide. Are you going to be first in line to try them? I might snag a few of the packets and just try them on other menu items. Let us know what you think of the new menu items down below!
