Anyone who frequents Reddit knows just how unhinged a place it can become if you let yourself wander down too many rabbit holes. But, if you enter into the site with a question or a game plan in mind, it can give you all sorts of incredible information courtesy of other users, and that’s what makes it such a popular site. And, when it comes to tips and tricks involving food, Reddit is often more useful than even your favorite cooking shows.

If Aldi is your go-to grocery store, you better believe there are a ton of great hacks on Reddit to help you take a basic Aldi product and transform it into something truly spectacular. Even spending 30 minutes perusing Aldi hacks on Reddit can yield some pretty awesome results, and the next time you walk into Aldi you’ll have a whole new vision behind the groceries you’re adding to your cart.

Make Your Sour Cream Extra Special

This hack starts with a simple container of sour cream. Nothing exciting to see here, right? Well, Reddit users offered a couple of simple tweaks to make that turn that tub of sour cream from bland to brilliant. The next time you’re shopping at Aldi, don’t just grab the sour cream and call it a day. Also, scoop up a packet of the dried French onion soup mix. Now, you might be thinking, “I don’t plan on making soup, so why would I ever add that to my cart?” You’re right, you’re not making soup. But what you’ll do is stir that dry mixture into the sour cream and voila! You have yourself a French onion dip that’s far better (according to Reddit) than any store-bought dip on supermarket shelves. One of the reasons store-bought stuff often struggles with flavor is due to the preservatives packed in to prevent spoilage while it sits on shelves for days (and sometimes weeks) at a time.

But, if you want to make the dip even tastier, another Reddit user suggested adding a bouillon cube into the whole mix. Bouillon cubes are basically miniature umami bombs, so stirring one in alongside the French onion mix takes the already savory flavor to the next level. So, give this hack a try the next time you host a gathering, and prepare for guests to reach the bottom of the bowl quicker than you thought possible.

The Wide World Of Reddit Hacks

Reddit is packed with awesome tips like this to step up your flavor game. Even the most boring, mundane items can have a little magic worked into them and turn them into a showstopping new dish. So, if you find yourself in a creative stalemate in the kitchen, a little Reddit research might just be what the doctor (or chef) ordered.
