This November, we’re seeing some new and unique products hit shelves already, so we figured we would break down what we’re most excited about picking up this month at Trader Joe’s for you all. Let’s get into it.
Sweetened Whipped Heavy Cream
While I may live in Florida and we’re still getting into the 80s in the afternoon, even Floridians are getting a delightful chill in the evenings. So at long last, we can break out the hot cocoa. And for us here at Sporked, a non-negotiable for any good cup of hot cocoa is some whipped cream on top. We’d like to imagine that each time that we crave hot cocoa we have the energy and willpower to make whipped cream from scratch, but that’s simply just not reality. So why not get a helping hand from Trader Joe’s? Unlike most whipped creams in a can, the Trader Joe’s variety is made of Grade A heavy cream with a 36% butterfat content. Not only is it going to taste like the real deal, but you don’t have to do any of the work to get it.
Spicy Ibérico Uncured Chorizo
As we get closer and closer to Thanksgiving and all of the December holidays, it has never been a better time to stock up on cured meats and cheeses for the inevitable charcuterie boards on the horizon. This dried chorizo in particular is made authentically in Spain with Ibérico pork, smoked paprika, salt, and garlic. Chorizo is always a good addition to any cheeseboard, and this variety is shelf stable. So even if you don’t know exactly when the need for charcuterie will trike, you can have this at the ready.
Sweet Corn Ravioli
To me, corn is one of the most delicious and yet overlooked vegetables that is native here in the Americas. There’s a reason we associated with the fall harvest and Thanksgiving meals in particular with corn, and it’s a legacy here in the Americas that is vast and profound. So, why not indulge this fall in one of the most intrinsically seasonal ingredients in as many ways as possible? With this offering from Trader Joe’s, it has never been so easy to have a deliberate dish that truly celebrates corn. The semolina ravioli pockets are filled with a sweetcorn and ricotta mixture, and the raviolis are coated in a savory, delicate sweet corn sauce. For us, this easy dinner sounds like it would be perfectly topped off with some of the Trader Joe’s chili crunch.
Sticky Toffee Cheddar
Sticky toffee as a holiday flavor has really been having a moment this year, especially in the States. And if you’ve been a fan of the Trader Joe’s sweet-and-salty cheeses that they’ve been releasing, then this one sounds like a particularly unique offering. The mild cheddar is dotted with raisins and dates as well as actual bits of toffee. This is either gonna be the best cheese we’ve ever tried or the worst, but regardless, we’re excited to try it out.
Turkey & Stuffing En Croute
If you’re anything like us, then you are the kind of person who likes to get fully in the spirit of holiday eating long before the actual day rolls around. This offering from Trader Joe’s delivers on that with a flourish. White meat turkey and tender cornbread stuffing are wrapped within a crisp puff pastry casing and ready for you to bake up. Whether or not you are looking for an easy entrée to have on your Thanksgiving table or looking for an easy, seasonally-appropriate dinner for cozy nights at home, a slice of this with a bit of cranberry sauce is guaranteed to get you into the holiday spirit.
