Just in case you’re new here, this is the little series that we have here at Sporked that is explicitly dedicated to letting you all in on what we as food writers actually enjoyed eating the most throughout our week. And trust us, we eat a lot of food. So, When something impresses us to the point where it actually stands out from the monotony of taste tests, we think you dear readers deserve to know about that, too.

And, while sometimes the things we eat that impress us most are every day items or favorites found on a budget, occasionally even get some more prestigious things thrown in there too. It’s a real smorgasbord each week, and these are the three things that stood out most this time around.
Sukhi Chicken Biryani – Costco
This is one of those Costco finds that, if not for the free samples, we usually wouldn’t pick up. But, after tasting a free sample of each of the curries on offer from this company, we couldn’t resist picking up the best one. The Chicken Biryani specifically has such an intense aromatic flavor, without any of the heaviness of a curry sauce. The chicken in these packs is also incredibly fresh tasting, tender, and juicy. Plus, the rice is impeccably seasoned with no complaints from us on texture there either. Altogether, you pretty much only have to prepare some extra vegetables to make this a well-rounded dinner in just a couple of minutes… and we’ll never be caught complaining about that.
Snack Factory White Crème & Peppermint Pretzel Crisps – Costco
You all can criticize all you want, but if Costco is stocking Christmas stuff already, then don’t blame us for partaking. Plus, we simply look forward to these specific Pretzel Crisps every year, even as self-described white chocolate haters. This is pretty much the only capacity in which white chocolate is welcome for us, because it feels inherently indicative of peppermint bark whilst being thoroughly balanced by the salty pretzel flavor. And, the crushed peppermint candy pieces are the perfect size and peppermint strength giving these an overall addictive quality. I mean, we already finished our first bag.
Buffalo Style Chicken Poppers – Trader Joe’s
The Trader Joe’s frozen section is always one of our favorites to peruse, and this week, of course, is no different. Something about the fall season always makes us want to go all in on snacks we typically associate with the football season, and buffalo chicken is basically the number one snack in that category for us. But, whether you’re eating a buffalo chicken wing, a buffalo chicken tender, or buffalo chicken dip, there is a certain degree of mess that just naturally comes with it.
These poppers take away all the mess and enter a crispy, yet chewy rapper. Plus, something that the buffalo chicken filling in these does very well is that it isn’t too cream cheese heavy, and it actually leans nicely into the spiciness. It’s definitely not going to be the favorite of people who are very spicy adverse, but if you have a decent tolerance, these will be a nice treat.
