As part of our responsibility here at Sporked we like to step away from some of the traditional food news and let you dear readers in on something a bit more personal. You see, we eat so much food, and most of the time it’s something completely new to us. So, it’s hard to predict whether or not that item will actually be worthwhile of your time and resources as a consumer. That’s why we have this series.

Even if everything we tried it out in terms of new launches in a week was entirely disappointing, we still like to make time to give you genuine recommendations of things we loved. These items are not necessarily new to the market, but they’re guaranteed delicious and worth giving them a try. Here are the three best things we ate this week.
Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Batons
In the sea of pumpkin spiced Trader Joe’s products, it’s hard to know which ones are going to be any good. And as we’ve slowly been making our way through the catalog of pumpkin spice sweets that they have on offer, we stopped in our tracks when we tried this one. Generally, we’re fans of any variety of these baton-style cookies because of their irresistibly satisfying texture.
They’re light and crunchy, yet sweet and luscious thanks to the filling. This pumpkin spice variation is no exception. If anything, it’s a model example. The pumpkin spice flavor in these is prominent yet delicate. And after you’ve finished one of the batons, you don’t feel so bogged down from the pumpkin spice as if you’d taken a bite out of a candle. To compliment to an afternoon coffee or tea, these have been the thing we’re reaching for most this week .
Tillamook Espresso Chip Ice Cream
Of the grocery store ice cream varieties, it’s our opinion that Tillamookis the most overlooked. Not only is their standard quart-and-a-half size comparable in price to a single pint from most other companies, but the flavor and texture execution rivals the greats. It’s exceptionally luscious, and this espresso chip flavor that they brought back to their collection in honor National Coffee Day has been a repeat flavor for us. Dare I say it, this may be the best most accurate espresso or coffee flavored ice cream currently available. Our only issue is that it’s not a permanent flavor, so don’t waste any time trying this one out.
Costco Bel Gioioso Burrata
There’s certain things at Costco that you don’t necessarily need to buy at Costco, but when you look at the overall value it’s simply good to resist. That’s what happened with this burrata. We’ve had this burrata before, and it’s lovely. Bel Gioioso is one of the companies making nationally available mozzarella style cheeses and an exemplary quality, whilst maintaining accessibility.
But the thing that generally stops us from keeping burrata on hand isn’t whether we enjoy it or not, but it’s the price. Sometimes it feels like an unnecessary luxury to stock up on it, but with each burrata in this Costco container coming in it just around one dollar we were able to indulge guilt free. Sometimes, what’s just as important to us in communicating what delicious food we’ve eaten boils down to where the best place to source it from is.
