This Fan-Favorite Candy Wants To Be The Next PSL

Pumpkin spice has officially entered its annual takeover. Coffee shops are bringing back their fall drinks, pumpkin-flavored treats are popping up everywhere, and Halloween candy is already filling store shelves.

Reese’s, however, has another idea. The candy brand is teaming up with coffee company The Nitro Bar for a new Reese’s Pumpkins PB Whip Latte, a limited-time drink inspired by one of Reese’s most popular Halloween candies.

Reese’s Is Skipping The Pumpkin Spice

Instead of pumpkin, cinnamon, and the rest of the pumpkin spice gang doing all the work, this drink is built around chocolate and peanut butter. These are the same flavors found in the classic Reese’s Pumpkin.

So, no, this is not Reese’s trying to make another pumpkin spice latte. And honestly, that is probably for the best. There are already plenty of pumpkin spice lattes out there. The world can probably use one more chocolate-and-peanut-butter coffee instead.

The “PB Whip” part is also doing some heavy lifting here. The drink is designed to bring that Reese’s Pumpkin flavor into coffee territory, with a whipped topping to finish things off.

The Latte Is Coming To NYC

The Nitro Bar is bringing the collaboration to New York City for its first-ever NYC pop-up on September 14th and 15th.

The Nitro Bar has made a name for itself with cold brew and nitro coffee in Rhode Island. The brand started as a mobile coffee cart before growing into a coffee shop business with locations in the state.

For Reese’s fans in New York, that means the wait for this particular fall coffee will be short. The drink makes its first appearance in the city before heading back to The Nitro Bar’s home state. 

Rhode Island Gets The Latte Next

After the New York pop-up, the Reese’s latte heads to Rhode Island. The Reese’s Pumpkins PB Whip Latte will be available at all The Nitro Bar Rhode Island locations from September 18th through September 20th, while supplies last.

That’s also another pretty short run, so anyone hoping to try the drink will have to keep an eye on those dates.

Try It At Home

The good news for Reese’s fans outside New York and Rhode Island is that the coffee party is not completely exclusive.

Reese’s and The Nitro Bar will also be sharing an at-home recipe for the Reese’s Pumpkins PB Whip Latte on September 14th. That means fans across the country can try making their own version instead of watching everyone else post pictures of theirs.

Could Reese’s Actually Beat The PSL?

Probably not. The pumpkin spice latte has been around for far too long to surrender the fall coffee crown because Reese’s showed up with peanut butter.

But Reese’s does have one thing going for it: people already love Reese’s Pumpkins. So, new latte a fan base before anyone has even taken the first sip.

For now, the Reese’s Pumpkins PB Whip Latte is a very limited fall coffee experiment. It will debut at The Nitro Bar’s NYC pop-up on September 14th and 15th, then head to Rhode Island locations from September 18th through 20th.
