Slimer has spent years stealing food, making a mess, and giving the Ghostbusters plenty of reasons to chase him around New York City. Now, the famously hungry green ghost has inspired a pizza that fans can actually sink their teeth into. No proton packs required!

Vinny’s Pizza & Pasta in Cranford, New Jersey, served its Slimer Pizza for the town’s Ghostbusters celebration on October 24, 2026.
Slimer Pizza Looks Slimy
Vinny’s Pizza & Pasta brought back its Slimer Pizza for the town’s Ghostbusters Day celebration on October 24th.
The best part of this pizza is its green crust. Rather than covering an ordinary pie with an elaborate design, Vinny’s uses green dough and keeps the topping simple with cheese. You get that green slimy bubbles on the pizza because the dough is fermented for just about 24 hours.
The Slimer Pizza is part of a bigger Ghostbusters-themed celebration in Cranford on October 24th. That means fans will have more to enjoy than a strangely colored lunch.
According to Downtown Cranford’s event information, the festivities included a Ghostbusters-themed brunch and trivia session at the Garlic Rose Bistro from 11AM to 12:30PM.
Unfortunately, the pizza was only available for this one day and there are no plans for it to stick around after the event.
Fans Are Ready To Get Slimed
The Slimer Pizza has the kind of look that makes some Ghostbusters fans want to take a closer look and some other run away in disgust.
The announcement from Ghostbusters News on X and Facebook has some fans saying they like the pizza even though it looks creepy. Some others are concerned about the green food dye, with one fan saying, “unless thats colored with spinach, I aint eating it. Not a huge fan of eating things filled with food coloring.
What Other Ghostbusters Foods Would Be Fun To See?
The Slimer Pizza raises another question: what other Ghostbusters characters deserve their own food specials?
The franchise has plenty of inspiration to work with. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, for example, practically begs for a marshmallow dessert. A Stay Puft-inspired treat decorated with white icing could be a fun option for fans who prefer sweets to pizza.
Then there is the green slime itself. A lime-flavored drink, a green dip, or even a themed milkshake could fit the franchise without requiring a restaurant to change its entire menu.
A Ghostbusters food collection could also feature a mixture of savory and sweet options. The Slimer Pizza could handle lunch, while marshmallow treats and green drinks could round out the menu.
