Ever since its addition to the McDonald’s menu in 1971, the Quarter Pounder and the Quarter Pounder with Cheese have been menu staples. People love them and come back time and time again to get their favorite burger. But let’s be honest folks, as food prices have continued to rise over the years, and the McDonald’s Value Menu has become more and more infuriating, the Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal has become less attainable.

That all ends today, though, with McDonald’s newest offering to introduce savings into your life. If the Quarter Pounder with Cheese is your go to from McDonald’s, then listen up. Starting in November, they’re making the meal whole lot more affordable. So let’s get into the details of these savings, shall we?
Serious Savings Coming To A McDonald’s Near You
For anyone who may not be as well-versed in the iconic fast food sandwiches, the Quarter Pounder with Cheese is made with a quarter-pound patty of beef that has been cooked to order, onions, two slices of American cheese, pickles, and a sesame bun. It is simple, it is classic, and, served up as a meal with McDonald’s iconic fries and a drink, it represents the classics available at McDonald’s well.
But for such a classic, the $11.29 that they are currently charging for the quarter pounder with cheese meal feels excessive, especially for McDonald’s. But that ends on November 2 since the Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal is being reduced in price to $8. This deal won’t last forever, though, so get it while it’s good – and cheap.
How Does It Compare?
Honestly, $8 still doesn’t really feel that cheap for a fast food meal in our opinion. So, we took it upon ourselves to look into how this $8 meal compares to other classic fast food meals currently available. For starters, a 10-piece Chicken McNugget meal comes in at $11, and this was something we certainly were not expecting. I figured that even the sale on this burger meal wouldn’t make it cheaper than the McNugget meal, but we were quite wrong.
Nuggets aside, we wanted to see how it would compare to other burgers too. The more we research we did, the more we realized how good of a deal this sale actually is though. A Dave’s Combo Meal from Wendy’s is their most comparable burger to a the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and it is $8.69. A Whopper meal is frequently ringing in at over $10, and a Big Mac meal is $9.29. Of the major fast food players, this is the best deal for a quarter-pound burger meal that you’re going to get at the moment. That said, we’d love to see some other restaurants get in on the savings too.
