This New Snickers Bar Is Perfect For Almond Lovers

As we approach Halloween and start to figure out what our costumes are going to be for this year, we inevitably have one thing on our mind: candy. And hey, maybe it’s just because we are food writers over here, but making sure we have the perfect selection of our favorite candies is an essential part of the holiday too. Not only does it have to be a perfect blend of gummy, fruity, chocolatey, and nutty, but adulthood brings the opportunity to stock up on candies that expand beyond the fun-sized treats of childhood trick-or-treating.

Well, ahead of this Halloween season Snickers is throwing their hat into the ring of consideration to be on your ideal candy lineup. I suppose we should say they’re throwing yet another hat into the ring though since their fun-sized candies of chocolate, nougat, caramel, and nuts already dominate the Halloween roundup. Regardless, if you’re a fan of the Snickers Almond bar that substitutes peanuts for almonds, then you’re gonna wanna pay attention. Snickers has taken our love for almonds to the Xtreme with this new release.

Doubling Down On The Flavors We Love

Listen, everyone already knows about the regular Snickers. But, they’re inherently exclusionary to anyone with a peanut allergy. Plus, there are a shocking amount of people out there who just don’t like the flavor of peanuts too.  

That’s why the Snickers Almond was such an exciting addition to the Snickers bar collection — it took the flavors and textures we love from the original and makes it more accessible to people with different preferences and needs. At this point, though, this is old news. Now, we’re onto the Xtreme.

The Snickers Xtreme bars and Snickers Almond bars have both existed for sometime now so this year of innovation for the Snickers company seems like a good time to finally bring the two together. The Snickers Xtreme removes the nougat from the standard Snickers bar and doubles up on the peanut and caramel mixture. Naturally, an almond version of this candy bar only makes sense as the next step to creating a more filled out product portfolio for the brand.

As one might naturally include, the Snickers Almond Xtreme bar is made with the standard chocolate shell of a Snickers bar, but instead of the typical layers, it is filled with twice the amount of caramel and sliced almonds as the filling. If it’s anything you like the typical caramel of a Snickers bar and lush with almond flavor due to its maximization then I think it’s pretty safe to say that we are anticipating being big fans of this launch.
