Here’s How You Can Yell at Trader Joe’s About a Discontinued Product You Want to Come Back

Shopping at Trader Joe’s is a dangerous game. You can step into the store with a list and a pretty clear idea of what you want to buy based on what you’ve tried and liked in the past, and then—BAM! The frozen burritos you’ve eaten for lunch for a decade have vanished from the freezer aisle. The bagged snack you crave when you watch bad TV has been disappeared.

What’s a shopper to do when a grocery store has a tendency to discontinue products that have become part of a daily routine?

Yell at Trader Joe’s. No, literally. It’s not common knowledge, but Trader Joe’s actually has a whole page dedicated to giving shoppers a chance to share their thoughts about products that have been discontinued.

If I do fill it out, is my favorite product guaranteed to return?

Nothing in life is guaranteed. TJ’s specifically mentions that they promise nothing when you fill out the form on their website. Still, it feels nice to have your voice heard in some manner. They will take customer requests into account when they develop new products or revisit old favorites, though. So that’s something.

My favorite part of the page though is the warning in the middle. “Please note: This is a one-way form designed for listening to your feedback. If you are curious about the status of a product or want to talk with a person about how much you miss [fill in the product], the Crew Members in your store are eager to connect.” Please don’t actually pester the poor crew members at your local Trader Joe’s. They’re just trying to get through the day. It’s kinda wild that TJ’s corporate would suggest that up as an option.

Your voice still matters though!

Filling out a form and sending it into the ether just hoping someone reads it might seem a little pointless. But the catharsis is part of the deal here. At the very least, it feels good to get the words out, right? I’m sure that if enough of us use it and express our loyalties to certain products, they’ll start to take note.
