It’s been no less than four days since the official release, and Trader Joe’s new snack is already shaping up to be a hit.

I think Trader Joe’s wants to start a snack feud. Here me out: Everyone knows about TJ’s Chili Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips. They’re basically a less spicy (but just as limey) version of Takis Fuego, and they’ve been around for a while, quietly acting as a Takis dupe for people with a normal tolerance for spice (and citric acid). That was attempt #1 at starting beef with a major snack company. Then, mere weeks ago, Doritos announced a new Doritos Dinamita Spicy Cool Ranch flavor—which is basically a Takis dupe, but with their Cool Ranch seasoning.
And lo and behold: Trader Joe’s is right on their tail with their version of a ranch-flavored rolled corn tortilla chip. It’s like a dupe of a dupe. Even I’m struggling to keep up with it all, and this is my job.
I tried them, because duh, I had to. And spoiler: You gotta buy them immediately. Here’s my breakdown.
