Trevor Evarts Thinks This Is the Best Halloween Candy

Welcome to Mythical Kitchen Picks, the series in which the culinary experts from Mythical Kitchen tell you all about their favorite foods and ingredients. For the next few installments, we’ll be talking about Halloween treats. Last time, Vianai Austin admitted that there was one chocolate-covered thing she actually liked—and it’s from Target! This time, Trevor Evarts is here to declare what he believes to be the king of all Halloween candy.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Reese’s Pumpkins? Trevor everyone has had these and they’re just the same as all the other Reese’s products. Also you stink and should take a shower.” Ignoring that last part, you are WRONG! I have been a staunch advocate for Reese’s Pumpkins since the first time I bit into one. As a self-proclaimed expert, I can tell you that the ratio of chocolate to peanut butter is hard to perfect—it’s a fickle combination—but once it’s done, it is a beautiful thing. Whichever genius in the Reese’s R&D department put this little spooky candy together should be given the Nobel Prize. Something about that pumpkin shape and that ratio of chocolate to peanut butter brings me to tears. It is by far my favorite Reese’s product, including all of the other seasonal shapes (even if the Sporked team declared Rees’s bats to be some of the best Halloween candy). If you consider yourself a Reese’s enjoyer and you haven’t yet tried the pumpkin then I urge you to do so and let your life be improved.
