We will never, ever, get tired of hearing about ways to combine already-delicious ingredients to make even more delicious foods. Hey, none of us has any time, and we need to take advantage of this kinda thing! That’s why we love nifty little hacks like using Doritos to make chicken tenders or turning leftover KFC into chicken and waffle sliders; as far as we’re concerned, if a food company’s going to put the effort into making a product taste good, the least we can do is add it to something to make it even better.

So when we heard that people were taking two (yes, just two) Aldi ingredients and combining them to make something that tastes like blueberry cheesecake, you best believe that we were ready to listen. This nifty little dessert hack, which comes courtesy of the Aldi Nerd Community Recipe Group on Facebook, is about to be your new favorite sweet treat.

Cookies + Goat Cheese = Cheesecake?

This Aldi ingredient combo is simple, but incredibly effective, and requires you to purchase two items: its Benton’s Lemon Cookie Thins and its Emporium Selection Blueberry Vanilla Flavored Goat Cheese Log. The cookie thins emulate the base of a cheesecake, with a crumb flavor that’s spiked with a citrusy edge, while the blueberry vanilla goat cheese log works as the filling. Both ingredients are punchy and tasty, but neither overwhelms one or the other. They’re an excellent match – and neither of them will break the bank, either.

If you want to keep your workload minimal, then simply spread the blueberry vanilla goat cheese onto the cookie thins and eat them just like you would cheese and crackers. Each bite will give you a cheesecake-like effect, with absolutely no effort required. If you prefer to be a little more elaborate, we can totally see how you could turn these two ingredients into a mini (or full-sized) cheesecake by pulsing the cookie thins and forming them into a crumb base, and then spreading one or two goat cheese logs on top. Slice it up, serve it at your next dinner party, and bathe in that smug, smug feeling of people thinking that you spent hours on it.

New Flavors, New Frontiers

This lemon and blueberry combo is a big hit with Aldi customers, but over on the Aldi Nerd Community Recipe Group, people have also pointed out that other duos work just as well. “I love the combination of honey goat cheese and chocolate chip thins!” said a comment in the group, highlighting a flavor pairing that we really want to try.

A couple of people also state that Aldi’s Benton Coconut Cookie Thins are also pretty bomb, and we bet that they’d work just as well with this blueberry cheese – or with Aldi’s cream cheese, if you’re not a big fan of goat cheese’s flavor and prefer things a bit more plain. Whatever combo you go for, we support you in your efforts.
