I have to admit that I’m a little confused by what Ka’Chava’s got going on. Are they a meal replacement shake or just something you sprinkle into your day for a little boost of nutrients? I’m almost positive it’s the latter but the bag plainly calls these shakes “the whole body meal.” Is that because it’s meant to be an actual meal or is it like in a metaphorical sense? Like your body will get a meal of this as in it’ll be happy to have it?

You may think this is a pointless tangent but I promise there’s payoff here. Let’s get started though. Whatever they’re meant to be, Ka’Chava has released two flavors recently: salted caramel and cinnamon French toast. I got my hands on them to test them out for myself so here are my thoughts.
Ka’Chava Cinnamon French Toast Nutrition Shake
Pros: I love breakfast food but man, it can be a tricky thing to deal with. Especially when you start to throw in the flavor of fake maple syrup. It can quickly become overpowering. Ka’Chava is able to do it justice here. While this overall is less cinnamon French toast and more general maple syrup/breakfasty vibes, it makes for a pretty pleasant shake.
Cons: For as much as I praised this cinnamon French toast shake for not being too mapley, it still lingered around for longer than I would have liked. It’s just the nature of working with fake maple syrup. It sticks to any surface around, including your lips. I just can’t ever imagine myself sneaking this into my daily routine when I’ll be left with reminders that permeate my house for a few hours.
Ka’Chava Salted Caramel Nutrition Shake
Pros: The flavor of Ka’Chava’s salted caramel nutrition shake is absolutely delightful. It’s sweet but not too sweet. The salt adds a little depth to the experience. My previous experience in this category came from Huel’s salted caramel meal replacement shakes. They’re packing a lot more into those shakes so they really weigh you down while you look past the lingering bad taste that every one of their shakes has.
That’s not the case here at all. If anything, I was looking for more substance to Ka’Chava’s shake. You really couldn’t tell that this shake’s supposed to be good for you and I’d count that as a resounding win.
Cons: For what it was, the salted caramel shake was delicious. My cons really just fall on Ka’Chava’s shakes as a whole here. They’re just an additive shake that won’t replace a meal and still cost $5 a serving. That’s a little egregious.
Clearly there must be a market for these shakes that I am not the target audience of. And that’s okay. If you are looking to add in some extra nutrients to your diet in a fun way regardless of the price, Ka’Chava’s salted caramel shake is a genuinely pleasant way of doing just that.
