IShowSpeed is one of those social media figures who is always getting into the most random things. Sure he’s a streamer, but his collaborations and event attendance always just come out of the blue. This collaboration with KFC that they recently announced is a bit less unexpected though. After all, he even said in a press release that his fans shouldn’t be surprised to see collaboration with KFC come to fruition since he has stayed true to his dedication and support of one of KFC as one of his favorite fast food restaurants.

The launch itself is a foray into condiments with the release of his Hot Ranch Big Dip. And honestly, with the new Saucy restaurants having seemingly taken center stage for KFC, it’s nice to also see KFC not only get some attention with this collaboration, but for them to be putting effort into the sauce department at traditional KFC locations as well.

With a collaboration with an internet figure though, there’s always some risk for the product itself to be a bit poorly executed at times. We knew we would have to get our hands on some of this new ranch to try out and see what the fuss is about. Here’s our official Sporked review.

Our Official Thoughts

Pros — At the end of the day, this is basically just ranch. And ranch, as we know, is delicious. I mean it’s a fan favorite for a reason and tourists coming to the United States for the World Cup even fell in love with it to such an extent that it became an international sensation, despite its commonplace nature for us Americans. Ultimately, it wasn’t a surprise to us that the sauce is very tasty.

It’s on the high-quality end of ranch execution in our opinion as well. It’s not a super gloopy, thick mayonnaise-y texture, but rather a very saucy, thin version of ranch. It’s the kind of ranch you’d find at a place that makes it fresh. The typical ranch flavors come through very nicely and it is the perfect level of salty, creamy, and tangy for dipping your chicken in. Plus, for $1.50 you get a huge portion of the sauce. It’s bigger than any sauce available at KFC making the heftier price tag worth it.

Cons — The only area in which I think this ranch actually struggled was regarding the spice. I mean, you do get some of the spice, but it’s really just like a warming sensation on the pack of your palate and you otherwise don’t really taste the spice. It’s more just an after effect and less of an actual part of the eating experience.

If you’re someone who likes the idea of spicy ranch, but isn’t necessarily the biggest fan of super spicy things then you would probably really like this. But, if you’re really looking for a nice kick to this ranch, we’re not gonna sit here and act like you’ll be satisfied with the amount of spice in this ranch, both in terms of heat and flavor.
