Straight off the bat, the new McDonald’s menu has been making some pretty big waves across the McDonald’s fan base. Big claims are being made about how this is one of the better things currently available on the menu. But, other than one new sandwich item, the only thing really changing is the new sauce. But, if a sauce is good, of course it can dramatically improve and alter the eating experience.

The new Caesar sauce available at McDonald’s is supposed to be garlic-y, lemony and creamy. It’s also devoid of anchovies making it vegetarian. So, anyone interested in trying out the new sauce to use as a dip for French fries or to add to your Filet-O-Fish sandwich is all good to indulge. We here at Sporked knew that we would have to get to the bottom of how good this menu really is so that you, dear reader, can know if and what is worth your time, money, and stomach capacity from this new launch.
Here’s What We Think
Chicken Caesar Snack Wrap ― Immediately, we have to acknowledge how much the chicken in these wraps has improved. And, since it’s actually delicious piece of real chicken meat that’s fried up to be crispy and tender, it really gives this sauce a chance to shine. And shine it did. True to its brand description, it’s creamy, garlic-y, and quite zesty. The creaminess definitely keeps it from being distinctly refreshing as a sauce, but it has an edge on some of the gloopy or more one-note flavors that McDonald’s has on offer. And the lemony-ness of the sauce cuts through the fattiness in a way that makes it far more palatable.
The wrap itself does leave something to be desired. A cold tortilla and cold shredded cheddar isn’t ever really gonna be that impressive. But the combo of the tender and the sauce is a level of flavor and perceived freshness that I never really would’ve expected from McDonald’s. For the price, I’d say this is a great showing from McDonald’s.
Bacon Caesar McCrispy ― The standard McCrispy is good, I’ll give it that. But, what happens when you give it a more interesting sauce than regular old mayo and upgrade its toppings? Of course, it’s going to be improved. In fact, it doesn’t even feel like it’s something from McDonald’s. Today, the chicken on my McCrispy was a little bit dry. And I feel like it’s generally a hit or miss in that regard with any McCrispy. But the sauce and juicy tomatoes made up for it in a lot of ways. Regardless, I’ll be forever grateful for McDonald’s for putting a piece of chicken on the menu that actually resembles a real cut of meat.
The sauce is equally impressive on this sandwich, but my issue with it is that it really didn’t have much of a chance to shine because of how much the bacon overpowered it. If you really wanna taste the sauce on every bite of this sandwich, I’d recommend getting a side of the sauce to dip your next bite. But again, this sandwich is impressive in that it doesn’t feel like it comes from a McDonald’s and it breaks through that stigma. This is a remarkably fresh tasting product between the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and fresher tasting sauce. Throw in a pretty decent piece of chicken and some bacon and this is a truly elevated McDonald’s experience.
