Wendy’s continues to take over the grocery store. You can buy frozen Wendy’s burger patties, Wendy’s double-smoked bacon, Wendy’s chili with beans, and Wendy’s chili without beans. You can practically open up your own Wendy’s out of your home kitchen—all that’s missing is a ready-to-drink Frosty. But Wendy’s latest grocery store item is something you won’t see on their drive-thru menu. It’s canned chili inspired by a signature Wendy’s menu item. Let’s get into it.

Wendy’s made canned Baconator Chili
You know how everyone says Wendy’s chili is made with leftover Wendy’s hamburgers? Well, what if it was made with leftover Baconators? This new Wendy’s chili is made with seasoned beef, beans (kidney and pinto), and bacon, along with the other usual canned chili ingredients (tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc.). Per Tasting Table, this new canned Wendy’s chili has slightly less water than the classic canned Wendy’s chili, along with more sugar and “texture enhancers.”
Wendy’s chose not to put any cheese in their canned Baconator Chili, even though a traditional Baconator comes topped with American cheese. Thank god. I know cheese soup is a thing, but I don’t want shelf stable melted cheese in my canned chili, thanks. I’ll just top a bowlful of this Baconator Chili with some shredded cheese—maybe a slice of American if I’m feeling wild.
When can I buy this new Wendy’s chili?
While the official word is that it’s heading to major stores now, it looks like Walmart already has it available for purchase. A can at our local Walmart is available for $4.62.
Will it be any good?
There are no reviews out yet, but the product already has an average rating of 4.9 stars. And if it’s anything like Wendy’s other canned chilis (both of which made our ranking of the best canned chili) then we’re in for a treat.
