Times are tough! Everyone is fighting to gain footing in the attempt to give people food that they can actually afford and get excited to eat. 7-Eleven is the latest to unveil a meal deal that’s enticingly cheap. Their version is the 7-Eleven Meal Deal so let’s break down what $3 can buy you at 7-Eleven.

7-Eleven’s Cooked Up A Hell Of A Deal
I hate to slander my beloved Costco, but they might be in trouble after this news spreads. The $1.50 hot dog combo is iconic, but Costco’s forgotten one crucial thing: a side. 7-Eleven is here to provide. Admittedly, this meal deal costs twice as much as Costco’s hot dog combo, but you’re still getting a lot in this deal.
In 7-Eleven’s $3 Meal Deal you can choose any single roller grill item, a 7-Select branded bag of chips (which vary in size from 2.5 to 3.25 ounces), and a large Big Gulp 30-ounce drink of your choosing. This deal is available to any 7Rewards program member and you can snag it through October 27th. Sadly, the deal is not available for delivery or for orders placed through third parties―you’ll have to head in store to get the best deal.
If you aren’t a member, it’s free and easy to sign up. Once you’re a member, all you have to do is scan the deal’s bar code in the 7-Eleven app when checking out. You can also get the deal activated by giving the cashier your phone number. Their system will automatically notice the qualifying items in your transaction and bump the total for all three down to $3.
What Should You Get For $3?
Well, the chips and soda seem to be obvious. There’s not much variation going on there besides personal preference, so choose your desired path. That leaves the roller grill items―our specialty. We’ve tasted a lot of 7-Eleven’s hot food. While a lot of roller items didn’t make the cut to our final placings, we still found some shining stars.
Our favorite? The 7-Eleven big bite hot dog. We love a hot dog, sue us! If you want to take a step away from the norm, we were also big fans of 7-Eleven’s steak & cheese taquito, buffalo chicken roller, and jalapeño & cheese taquito.
Ending the list of roller items was the cheeseburger bite. Sporked’s Ariana Losch had some interesting words to say about it. “Does this look like a charred turd in a hot dog bun? Yes. Yes it does. In reality, it is basically a burger patty that’s shaped like a thick hot dog, infused with a cheddar cheese flavor, and charred a bit on the outside.” It’s such a shockingly crass thing to say about an edible food that I kind of love the idea of trying it out.
