Be honest: That play kitchen plastic fruit always kind of looked kind of good, right? Each piece was so cute, so perfect, so pop-it-in-your-mouthable, but one taste quickly proved to be an early lesson in life’s cruel reality that all that glitters is not gold. Well, we’re here to talk about a dessert to restore your faith in humanity. Fruit Bucket ice cream is a brightly colored frozen treat going absolutely viral on social media, and for good reason.

What is Fruit Bucket ice cream?
Fruit Bucket ice cream is a pint containing colorful, miniature versions of six fruits: bananas, mangoes, strawberries, blueberries, grape clusters, and peaches. Actually, they’re about the size of a big marble so we guess some of them are miniature versions (like the peaches) and some of them are monster versions (like blueberries). But this is no time for nitpicking!
All of these delightful morsels are as perfect and inviting as the play fruit of yesteryear, but they’re decidedly tastier. They’re made of fruity ice cream flavored to correspond to their fruity shape, and coated in a thin layer of white chocolate. It’s a collection of distinct but complementary bite-sized bits of bright, sweet, creamy goodness.
Where can you find Fruit Bucket ice cream?
Here’s the snag: Fruit Bucket ice cream is so popular that it’s selling out left and right. Your best bet is to look at Asian grocery chains like H-Mart and Uwajimaya, but you also might have luck at your local Asian market. Given that they only run about $4 – $5 per pint, in addition to being adorable and delicious, it’s no wonder people are buying them up faster than places can stock them!
