Another month, another Costco haul. But hey—we have a theme this time! May of course means Mother’s Day is upon us. How do you consolidate an entire year’s worth of thank yous into one present? Naturally, I decided to go to my favorite establishment: Costco! Now, I have been told that bringing your mom to the Costco food court and getting her a $1.50 hot dog combo is not sufficient (even though I’d argue it shows how financially savvy she raised me to be). I suppose that means we should go over what to buy at Costco this month to celebrate and thank her for all she does!

Birch Benders Ube Mochi Pancake Mix

We’re starting off with a classic: breakfast in bed! And if you’re able to read this on your own, that means you’re no longer able to phone it in with a bowl of cereal and a glass of OJ. So let’s get this beautiful, purple ube mochi pancake mix at Costco—made by one of the Sporked team’s favorite brands—to start off on the right foot. Add some pure maple syrup from the next aisle over and a few fresh berries from the walk-in cooler to the mix, and you’ve got yourself the best start to the day imaginable.

Rana Shrimp Ravioli with Lobster Sauce

Roll right into a decadent lunch with Rana’s shrimp ravioli with a lobster sauce. I can’t pass up a dish that comes with everything you need right out of the bag. Costco, you really know how to woo me. You can’t beat that convenience! Plus, the Sporked crew recently taste tested a bunch of Rana frozen meals at Costco and, by and large, they’re good! Use that time you saved on planning out your pairings for the day to write an extra something special in your mom’s Mother’s Day card. The more tears you get her to shed, the more bonus points you get!

Cuisine Solutions Sous Vide Seared Salmon

Okay, seafood for lunch and dinner might be a bit much, but salmon seems like such a universally beloved mom food, so I’m going with it. Hey, maybe your dinner rez will fall through and you’ll need a backup on hand. Show your mom she taught you how to think ahead and be reliable!

Godiva Premium Assortment Spring Box

We’ve covered all the major meals for Mother’s Day, so let’s get into the peripherals to buy at Costco. What would Mother’s Day be without chocolates? Now, the secret to this box of chocolates from Costco is that there are two boxes. That means you can give both to your mom, split them up and give one to your mother-in-law for brownie points, or even keep one for yourself if mom’s been slacking a little this year. I won’t snitch!

Justin Sauvignon Blanc

If you have the kind of mom who can’t say no to a crisp glass of white on a special day, snag a bottle at Costco. Sauv Blanc is a pretty reliable option—it’s known for being medium bodied, but plenty bright and fruity, too. Plus, this Justin Sauv Blanc is going to pair nicely with those salmon fillets and shrimp ravioli.

Bakery Street Raspberry Lemon Rose Bundt Cake

You could spend all day baking something from scratch. Or you could get something that looks homemade from Costco and save yourself all that trouble! Besides, by now your mom’s too tipsy from the wine to tell the difference. A raspberry lemon rose shaped bundt cake is just too cute to pass up. Honestly, it was made to be enjoyed on Mother’s Day.

Bouquet of Flowers

I know it’s not food, but I like to add a little something extra to my Costco haul. They have some beautiful and cheap bouquets in store, especially when you compare them to the average floral shop. Will they be as good? Probably not. But your mom is finally getting flowers from her child after years of wiping your boogers off her clothes, so anything is better than nothing at all!
