To me, September is one of the most exciting months of the year to be at the grocery stores. You kind of get the best of everything as we start to see the return of seasonal favorites (yes, including everyone’s demands for everything pumpkin spiced) as well as getting to reap the rewards of late-summer produce.

You can get anything you’d like and lean into whatever flavor season suits you the best, whether it’s succulent figs with sourdough, ricotta, honey, and walnuts, or a fresh summer tomato and basil antipasti, everyone can embrace the flavors that excite them the most.
Luckily, Trader Joe’s is always here to help support us in making our dreams into reality, and this month is no different. Of everything hitting Trader Joe’s shelves this month, these are the things we’re most excited to shop. Let’s get into it, shall we?
- Chicken Florentine Lasagna
-
If there’s one thing we know to be true about September, it’s that it is always over in the blink of an eye. Between the back-to-school season, the beginning of many sports seasons from the elementary school level to the NFL, and the approaching fall activities, September’s going to fly by. We all have busy schedules to maintain, and sometimes dinner’s not really at the top of that list of priorities. This new lasagna variation that Trader Joe’s is releasing across its stores is not only hearty thanks to the addition of chicken, but it’s baked in a comforting cream sauce without you barely having to lift a finger.
- Honey Mustard Popcorn
-
As the sun starts to set earlier, we’re really leaning into cozy nights at home. And what’s a cozier night at home than to be cuddled up with a big blanket, a bowl of popcorn, and a good book or movie to keep you entertained? Well, we’re excited to try out this Honey Mustard Popcorn for all the cozy nights ahead to lean into the subtle spicy sweetness that we’re welcoming with open arms this season.
- Italian Mascarpone & Mixed Berries Gelato
-
This is the sister product to one of our absolute favorite Trader Joe’s sweet treats, the Italian Pistachio & Fior di Latte Gelato. And we’ll be indulging in this refreshing berry variation throughout this month to not only beat the lingering heat, but to remind ourselves not to rush the end of the summer season. The month of September will see some of the most irresistible summer produce, and we’re here to celebrate that (yes, even through our choice in gelato) despite the rampant pumpkin spice-ification of the grocery store shelves.
- Salted Maple Cold Foam Creamer
-
This is one of those products that are technically designated as a fall seasonal item that we think has earned its place on the shelves year-round. Not only is maple a pretty easily translated flavor that can find a place in any season of the year, but this is one of our absolute favorite Trader Joe’s products that we’ve been waiting in eager anticipation for the return of. And frankly, we wish we had never had to say goodbye in the first place. We’ll see the return of this fan-favorite product in September and to say we’re excited would be an understatement.
- Pumpkin Flan
-
Okay, okay, the end of September is officially fall. So even I, a die-hard summer lover, can accept that it’s an okay time to start loving and embracing anything and everything decorated in seasonal flair. Flan is already amongst one of the simplest and most decadently satisfying desserts there is. I mean, it’s just a self saucing crème brûlée if you think about it. And, the custardy center, we think, will lend itself perfectly to the pumpkin spice flavor profile, especially since pumpkin pies themselves are essentially just baked custards in a pie shell. We simply can’t wait to try this one out.
