Your Favorite Oven-Ready Cookies Are Ready For Fall

Listen, folks. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve had the best time really indulging and engaging in all of the summer fun. Especially being a Florida girl, the “fun in the sun” mindset is no joke. But there’s something about the back-to-school season that really just edges towards the fall mindset. And sure, I might be entirely child-free, but the seasons and phases of life are still clear and distinct through their presentation in society and stores.

And, as the back-to-school season rolls in, the next step is basically an all out give-in to autumn flavors and activities. But companies like Nestlé Toll House have already started leaning into the cozy spirit. Not only are their Summerween flavors already on shelves in some places, ready to get you excited for the festivities to come, but we can expect that the rest of the limited-edition autumn flavors will be fully rolled out by the end of the month. Plus, part of their exciting seasonal launch includes two limited-edition baking morsels so that you can integrate the fall fun into your own creations.

Limited-Edition Fall Flavors

This year’s fall flavors cover a wide range of different flavors and decorations, making it possible for everyone to find something that they like in the launch. From cinnamon spice to chocolate and sprinkles, the world is our autumn-flavored oyster. So, without further ado, let’s introduce these new flavors. 

Scooby-Doo Cookie Dough ― This year, Toll House is really leaning into the Halloween spirit early through the release of the brand-new Scooby-Doo cookie dough. Not only is the packaging perfectly themed with a silhouette of Shaggy and Scooby going down a spooky road in the Mystery Van, but the cookie dough itself is a classic dollhouse sugar cookie with Scooby-Doo themed and colored sprinkles throughout.

Trick-or-Treats Cookie Dough ― Returning to the Summerween collection is the Trick-or-Treats cookie dough. The chocolate cookie dough is made with butterscotch morsels and Halloween sprinkles. Orange butterscotch morsels combine with the bright green jimmies, white ghost sprinkles, and purple bat sprinkles to make an über-festive cookie. If I don’t have the time to go homemade, I’ll make sure to snag a pack of these cookies to serve up as an easy Halloween treat. 

Fall Cinnamon Cookie Dough ― Although not inherently a fall cookie, I think snickerdoodles fit quite naturally with the season, since cinnamon is the trademark flavor profile of most autumn sweet treats. Nestlé’s fall cinnamon sugar cookies play on that flavor in style of cookie with a bit of a twist. The cinnamon cookie dough is sprinkled with cinnamon sugar flakes and festive sprinkles. The sprinkles are leaves of yellow, orange, green, red and brown, leaning into the classic colors of the season.

Pumpkin Spice Cookie Dough ― Beyond cinnamon itself, the combination of flavors that symbolize pumpkin spice are so deeply integrated into American autumn culture that it only makes sense that Toll House would release an entire cookie dedicated to the flavor. Their pumpkin spice cookies are made with a pumpkin spice cookie dough and premier white morsels are dispersed throughout. They seem pretty simple and classic and just free up some of your time from making these yourself.

Football Cookie Dough ― Of course, with fall comes the start of football season. Everyone from little kids to the National Football League are getting excited about the games ahead, and Toll House is all in to help us celebrate. Their football cookie is a sugar cookie dough and it is made with the chocolate football instead of regular chocolate chips. Flavor-wise, this will be a pretty standard cookie I think, but it’s still visually interesting enough to be perfect for hosting and cheering on our favorite teams.

Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookie Dough ― Some of the more unique flavors that are being released this fall stray away from what you would traditionally think of as an autumn flavor. Toll House’s Abuelita cookie is inspired by Mexican hot chocolate. The chocolate cookie dough is made with cinnamon spice, and extra milk chocolate chips are mixed throughout. I’ll admit, I wish that there was a bit more of a kick being added to these cookies rather than just cinnamon, but I’m excited to try this flavor regardless. It’s a nice twist on a classic double chocolate cookie. This cookie, however, is the only cookie from their seasonal collection that will be only available in Target stores.

There’s Still More To Love

Let’s say you’re not about the ready-to-bake cookie doughs. Well, for you, I would say that not all hope is lost from this collection from Toll House. They have released two flavors of morsels for you to use in your own baking. The football morsels used in the football cookies that they are releasing this season are available for individual purchase as well, for the second year in a row. Whether you just wanna go a more homemade route, or use them for something entirely different than a cookie, you can still get in on the sports fun. And, in true fall fashion, they are releasing pumpkin spice morsels into stores, too.

Overall, Toll House has come quite a long way from the basic chocolate chip cookie dough and they’re going all in on the seasonal flavors and fun. And, with a launch like this, it’s making me forget that it’s still just the beginning of August and that the official start of autumn is still two months away.
