How organized is your spice cabinet? If it’s anything like mine was a year ago, it’s functional but could use some improvements. When I started cooking more and trying different ingredients, I ended up with more spices than could fit in the cabinet — or so I thought. It wasn’t that I had too many spices for my kitchen, I just wasn’t organizing the cabinet to the best of its ability. I’d seen people who were using turntables and magnetic shelves for their seasonings, but I didn’t have any alternative methods of my own until I locked in and looked for one. That’s how I came across the Spicy Shelf on Amazon.

A Look at the Spicy Shelf
The Spicy Shelf is an adjustable tiered organizer that uses vertical space to maximize storage in your spice cabinet. It creates shelves around the perimeter of the cabinet that you can use to break up the container clutter and neatly display seasonings and spices so nothing gets lost in the shuffle. The organizer forms two shelves and has legs so spices can be stored underneath it. Depending on the size and shape of your cabinet, you can stack and contract the Spicy Shelf to 9.75 inches, stack and expand the shelves to 16.76 inches, or place the expanded shelves side-by-side for a maximum width of 33.5 inches. Because the Spicy Shelf is freestanding, you can place it on open shelving and counters, too.

My Experience with the Spicy Shelf
The cabinets in my kitchen are wall-mounted and tall, so its shelves are more like cubbies. It’s not the best setup for little spice jars because most are roughly the same height, and it’s impossible to see them all without pushing them around. Plus, the jars are so small that they leave a ton of space above them. After much consideration, I bought the Spicy Shelf because it seemed like the smartest solution that wouldn’t let cabinet space go to waste.
The Spicy Shelf was quick and easy to put together, and I expanded it to the necessary width after putting it in my newly emptied cabinet. From there, it was simply a matter of deciding how I wanted to organize my seasonings. I was impressed by the sturdiness of the Spicy Shelf and loved the non-slip padding on its surface. (I don’t have to worry about accidentally knocking over a jar of egg toppings while I’m reaching for garlic powder.) I’ve had it for over a year now and won’t be getting rid of it any time soon. Best of all, it made my spice cabinet look a hundred times better. I can see everything in it!
