Famously, Dr Pepper managed to combine 23 flavors to create a soda masterpiece. While others have tried, no soda company has managed to create a Dr Pepper dupe that has come close to the original. But that hasn’t stopped Dr Pepper themselves from trying to improve on their flagship flavor, releasing new Dr Pepper flavors year after year. Some of them are good, some of them are insults to Dr Pepper devotees. And we tried them all.
A couple of years ago, we tried every Dr Pepper flavor currently on the market and ranked them from worst to best. And, recently, we did it again so we could reassess our ranking of all Dr Pepper flavors. The newest Dr Pepper flavor tastes a lot like berry-flavored Crystal Light. It’s not bad, per se. Like, if you were at a little mom-and-pop store and this was sold to you as a local blackberry soda, you might be into it. It’s sweet and fruity and generically berry-y. But it tastes nothing like Dr Pepper. Since this is a ranking of Dr Pepper flavors, that’s a big strike against it. — Justine Sterling

If you like cream soda and Dr Pepper, and you want a diet soda, you’ll like this. The taste is slightly different from the regular Cream Soda Dr Pepper—the fake sugar flavor is strong. We felt that Cherry Dr Pepper Zero Sugar tasted even more cherry-forward than regular Cherry Dr Pepper, which, in turn, caused it to taste less like Dr Pepper, earning it a lower score on this ranking of the flavors of Dr Pepper. However, if you’re a big cherry fan, grab one of these! It’s not my favorite of the Dr Pepper flavors, but it’s certainly much, much better than most diet sodas. — Jordan Myrick

Strawberries & Cream Dr Pepper is a newer addition to the lineup of Dr Pepper flavors. Unfortunately, it doesn’t taste anything like Dr Pepper at all. It tastes like a very strong strawberry soda. In our most recent taste test, we noticed that it specifically tastes like a strawberry Creme Saver soda. Dr Pepper Zero Sugartastes almost exactly like normal Dr Pepper. I absolutely hate diet soda and was shocked by the similarities between this and Dr Pepper made with sugar. There’s a very minimal diet-beverage sort of taste, and I think you might not even notice it if the soda was served freezing cold over ice. I would drink this, and I can’t really say that about any other diet soda on the market. That said, in our most recent taste test diet soda enjoyer Gwynedd disagreed, preferring Diet Dr Pepper to Dr Pepper Zero Sugar. So, if you regularly drink diet sodas, you might like the classic Diet instead. — Jordan Myrick

Lots of people say Diet Dr Pepper is the best diet soda of all time because it tastes most similar to its non-diet counterpart—and that includes our own Gwynedd Stuart, who prefers Diet Dr Pepper to Dr Pepper Zero Sugar. While the artificial sweetener flavor is too prominent for Jordan, Gwynedd (and I) both enjoy this crisp Dr Pepper flavor. This tastes like cream soda mixed with Dr Pepper, which is exactly what you’re looking for if you’re buying Dr Pepper & Cream Soda. It smells like maraschino cherry and definitely leans more heavily into the cream soda than the Dr Pepper. As of this writing, Dr Pepper Cream Coconut and Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut Zero Sugar are back! It’s all thanks to the fans—and we count ourselves among those fans. Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut does a great job of marrying the tropical, creamy flavor of coconut with the 23 flavors of Dr Pepper. And the zero sugar version tastes pretty darn close to the full sugar version, but it definitely has that telltale fake sweetener aftertaste. — Justine Sterling

I don’t totally get Cherry Dr Pepper, but I respect it. In my opinion, Dr Pepper already has enough cherry. When you add in more cherry, it offsets the balance a little. It becomes Cherry Dr Pepper when maybe it should be Dr Pepper Cherry. It does taste really good, though! It’s like when you were a kid and would get a special soda at a restaurant with extra maraschino cherries in it. That’s why it continues to be one of the best flavors of Dr Pepper we tried. — Jordan Myrick

I want the Dr. Pepper Creamy Coconut to stay on market for good.
I think my favorite is the strawberry and cream.
Strawberry and cream is my favorite flavor. Dr Pepper zero sugar is surprisingly good but still a way behind the cream and the regular one.
My family really likes zero creamy coconut. But can’t never find them anywhere. Please consider keeping them in stores. I have diabetes I never drank zero drinks never but this one is it for me.
Well I prefer Diet Dr Pepper over any of them, don’t care for the Zero one Diet all the way.

Dr pepper mixed berry was one of the best flavors dr pepper had. Next best is diet cherry
You missed Dr. Pepper Real Sugar. It is different with a slightly heavier, smooth taste with a mild smokey finish.
Only classic Dr Pepper is on the market here in South Korea
Well i just had to say i totally disagree about the strawberry and cream dr pepper! It does have the dr pepper taste but its definitely number one for me!! The cream soda dr pepper was my favorite until this nee strawberry and cream one and it out does them all!! But a more proper description of it would be it tastes just like the creamy strawberry lifesavers, and is absolutely delicious!!! But i do agree with u that dr pepper is the best soft drink ever ☺️☺️☺️

I love dr.pepper zero sugars. But it’s really hard to get it in the bottle around my area. And I don’t really care for the can because you have to drink it fast are it will go flat quick.
Here in Germany, Dr. Pepper Zero tastes nothing like regular Dr. Pepper. It has a weird aftertaste that I just don’t like. I can’t say much about cream soda and strawberry, as things like that just don’t exist over here. They sound intriguing though.
Bring back dark berry!
Dr Pepper strawberry is awesome. It is always sold out where I live. I usually only drink zero and all the zero Dr Peppers are amazing!!!
The best soda from Dr.Pepper was Dr.Pepper’s Fuson the best tasting and with the best pep ever. Dr.Pepper soda’s does not compare to the Fuson that they made and of course regular Dr.Pepper is also very good! But they really need to make that Fuson again! They would make So much more money! Try it Dr.Pepper you will see how.much people will buy it!! I know i will and so will alot of people that i.know!!!! If you bring it back and you make.boat loads of money from it i want a cut for asking you guys to make it!!!!

Dr Pepper Float a few years ago. Dr Pepper Berry 2 yrs ago. My go to is Cherry Dr Pepper or Mr Pibb which is nearly impossible to locate as a Coke product since Covid limited production lines to run with many varieties. I’m sure you have visited the factory. We have, interesting museum.
You should try the Strawberry Dr Pepper with vanilla ice cream. Definitely a great float! Also you should have included the Berry Dr Pepper because it was the best one. I just sorry they don’t have it anymore.

Dr Pepper with real sugar is the best. Dr. Pepper with vanilla needs to be bottled. Don’t forget Dr Pepper hot in the fall and winter. Homemade Dr Pepper and Fireball…yum and great for a sore throat.

I agree that the strawberries and cream doesn’t taste like Dr. Pepper, but if you tasted any of the fruit flavor diet soda, they are not that great. Dr Pepper got it right, this is the one of the best diet fruit flavor sodas that is currently on the market.

As a kid I remember Dr. Pepper having a very cherry taste. I’m 66 now and prefer cherry D.P
Then you have to remember the Fuson From Dr.Pepper about 20 years ago had a grwat taste of cherry with a bold taste and plenty of pep to it. It will get you going like any of the strong coffee ‘s You can ever imagine!!!!🙂😛🤤😋

Gotta say, I agree with your taste buds 100%. I used to live on regular Dr Pepper but was told I’d have to stop for health reasons so I decided to try the Dr Pepper Zero. Now I’m all in. I’ve been a Pepper since I was 16 and so far I am stuck on the Zero.
You can only find this flavor in make your flavors at places that have free fall machines, but just strawberry 🍓 and no cream I also good that should have been a regular flavor instead of strawberry and cream, not a big cream soda fan, and doesn’t taste like you’re eating a bowl of strawberry and cream, but the flavor is ok

It’s sad that I have to go to sonic to get my favorite flavor, “cherry vanilla” Dr pepper. That needs to be permanent as does “dark berry”
I was mortified to experience all the sugar in Dr. Pepper dissolving my teeth with each can. So I stopped drinking it altogether. Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar to the rescue! I love this flavor and it doesn’t rot my teeth.
Hi friend! I know it was mentioned that this list contained only permanent flavors, but I’d like to remind our avid Dr Pepper aficionados of the gone but not forgotten Dr Pepper Vanilla Float. This flavor was an ancestor of the Cream soda variety we have now but it was fantastic and my favorite Dr Pepper edition I’ve ever had.
Apparently our customers disagree. We tried Dr Pepper Cream Soda in our Cold Drink Vending Machines and sales were not the best. We have been bombarded with requests for the Strawberries and Cream. We are going to put it in our pop machines as soon as possible.
Head to head our Nehi Peach sales is comparable to regular Dr Pepper. If we sell 100 cases of Dr Pepper we will sell 90-95 cases of Nehi Peach. RC cola sales have increased as well as 7Up.
Dr Pepper Dark Berry is by far the best! I wish so bad they would just make that a regular in their lineup. I mean people are buying 12 packs on eBay for over $20 and nearly as much to ship, or two 16oz bottles for $12 and shipping, AND THEY SELL (although as much as I love it I wont pay that) Id think that is a pretty strong indicator that other folks feel as I do. BRING IT BACK PERMANENTLY!

Diet Dr. Pepper is far better than the Zero Sugar DP. With the exception of the Strawberries and Cream Zero Sugar, with is the best soda drink to be released by any company in years. Why would it have to taste like original DP to qualify as good? That would kind of kill the whole idea. It is simply an awesome new flavor I’m the DP family–and far better than anything else the produce. They say it’s a permanent flavor but I’m already finding it impossible to find on shelves. They better keep it. If not, Diet Pepsi will benefit from my spite.
I thought Dr Pepper 10 was the best flavor after Dr Pepper. Great disappointment that they killed it.

I extremely agree on that strawberries and cream. Dr Pepper needs to stay permanently. It is absolutely delicious and far better tasting than any other strawberry soda out there. And just for fun try mixing it with Bailey strawberry and cream delicious

Dark berry has Alot to compete with ,but I loved it . I don’t think enough people went out on a limb to try it. It’s right below Dr.Pepper as far as taste. It’s a great mix. It just doesn’t sound good I guess.
