People might resent pumpkin spice season creeping up its timing, but who will ever begrudge Spooky Szn an earlier entrance? I’ve already started making my list of cozy scary movies to watch in order to block out the true horrors of the world and now, thanks to Hershey, I have a shopping list of new and returning Halloween candies to go with it. And so do you! Because the embargo has been lifted and I am free to tell you all about the treats you’ll find in the seasonal aisle this year.

Peanuts branded Reese’s Pumpkins and Reese’s Minis

Everyone’s favorite baldheaded child is finally getting some time in the candy aisle spotlight. In celebration of the gentlest Halloween movie, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Hershey’s is releasing mixed Reese’s bags of Pumpkins and Minis adorned with Peanuts characters.

Kit Kat Counts

We caught word of these vampire-shaped Kit Kats early, and now they’ve been confirmed. They’ll be available in snack and jumbo size mixed bags.

Harry Potter Magic Friends Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme

These new Harry Potter-themed Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme minis feature some slightly more deep-cut characters. No Harry. No Hermione. Instead, you’ll find Dobby, Hedwig, Buckbeak, and Fawkes. If you know who they are you also probably know your patronus and your house. Hello from a hawk-owning Slitherin.

Reese’s Mini Pumpkins

We were psyched when we first heard that these lil’ guys were hitting shelves early. These mini versions of iconic Reese’s pumpkins come unwrapped in a bag for easy snacking.

Assorted Halloween Kit Kats

Finally, you can get all the Halloween Kit Kats in one handy bag. You’ve got green Witch’s Brew Kit Kats, vampire-shaped Kit Kat Counts, and cinnamon-toast-flavored Ghost Toast Kit Kats (which we really enjoyed last year).

Mixed bags of Reese’s Bats and Kit Kat Counts

This year’s introduction of the new Kit Kat Counts means Reese’s Bats finally have an extremely on-theme grab bag buddy. You can now get bags of Reese’s Bats and Kit Kat Counts. Presumably, the Counts turn into the Bats? And transform from wafer to peanut butter? Makes as much sense as anything else!

Caramel Lovers mixed bag

I wouldn’t call myself a caramel freak but I’m pretty excited for this mixed bag of trick-or-treat candy. You get Reese’s Caramel Cups, Reese’s Take 5 (one of the best candy bars ever), Milk Duds, Rolos (extremely underrated candies IMO), and Paydays.

Twizzler Lovers mixed bag bag

Hey, Twizzler twerps. This bag comes with classic Twizzler Strawberry Twists, Cherry Pull ‘n’ Peels, and Rainbow Twists. If you’re a real lil’ devil, you’ll bring it to a party hosted by a Red Vines loyalist.

Twizzlers Ghosts

Twizzlers Ghosts are back! They’re shaped like ghosts and they taste like cherry Twizzlers Nibs!

Jolly Rancher Gummies Trickies

What makes these new Jolly Rancher Gummies so tricky? The colors don’t match the flavors. Sneaky! A mixed bag contains Green Apple, Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Grape, and Watermelon gummies.

Hershey’s Nuggets Pumpkin Spice Latte

Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte doesn’t drop until August 26, but Hershey’s Pumpkin Spice Latte Nuggets have already been spotted on shelves. These nugs are made with milk chocolate and pumpkin spice latte flavored creme.

Cadbury Mini Harvest Handfuls

These returning seasonal candies are essentially autumnal Cadbury Mini Eggs. Are they groundbreaking? No. But Cadbury Mini Eggs rock. So I’ll happily snack on a handful of these orange and yellow-hued spherical copies.

About the Author

Justine Sterling

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
