5 New Trader Joe’s Items Dropping This Month

February is the shortest month of the year, but Trader Joe’s is still giving us a full, regular month’s worth of the goods. Of course they’re stocking their shelves with a veritable avalanche of heart-shaped and love-adjacent novelties for Valentine’s Day, but they’re also offering up plenty of creative and tasty sustenance that has absolutely nothing to do with any of that.

Whether you’re carbo-loading during the Big Game, planning a special dinner with your sweetheart, or just eating normally because not everything revolves around the capitalist agenda, Trader Joe’s will keep you fed and happy. Here are the top five new Trader Joe’s items we’ve got our eyes on.

Handheld Chicken Pot Pies

You don’t need a sweetie pie when you can have this savory pie. The comforting flavor of grandma’s chicken pot pie meets the convenience of a Hot Pocket in these new frozen Trader Joe’s entrees (or snacks, depending on your level of hunger). Our own personal love story could never come close, so we’ll just appreciate this beautiful marriage.

Dark Chocolate Bark

We’d be happy if this were just dark chocolate bark, but Trader Joe’s is ever the overachiever, adding tart freeze-dried raspberries and crispy puffed quinoa, turning an already delicious treat into an adventure of flavor and texture. Sweet, rich, sharp, and crunchy, this new Trader Joe’s product runs the gamut of pretty much everything we could ask for in both our snacks and desserts. We don’t know why TJ’s bothered putting it in a resealable bag because this is absolutely not lasting more than one sitting.

Cheesy Bagels

Even the Monday-est of Monday mornings can be made better with the aroma of toasting bread and nutty Asiago wafting through the house, and that’s exactly what these new Trader Joe’s bagels will give you. These bagels are a lot like what we’ve learned to love about ourselves: They’re unapologetically cheesy and doughy in the middle. There is one difference between us and these bagels: You can (and should) slather them in cream cheese, while we’ve been asked to stop slathering ourselves in cream cheese in an effort to spice up the office breakfast meetings.

Portuguese Donuts

While it should surprise nobody to hear that we’re partial to most donuts, there’s a special place in our hearts for the filled ones. Perhaps the only people upset by TJ’s decision to stock these new Portuguese donuts would be Dunkin’, whose entire corporate profits might actually take a hit if we stopped our 11:30 pm donut runs. But we just might. Because these new Trader Joe’s treats are ready to eat after thawing at room temperature for an hour (you’ll find them in the freezer section). That means you can have soft dough and a sweet chocolate hazelnut filling, sprinkled with sugar, waiting for you at all times in your freezer.

Teriyaki Mushroom Mini Bao Buns

It’s Friday night. You’re trying to decide what to eat. You ask your partner, “What are you in the mood for? Salty? Sweet? Umami? Fluffy? Meaty?” They simply say, “Yes.” Then you remember, this is a fantasy. You are alone and you’ve known the whole time that you were going to eat these teriyaki mushroom mini bao buns, and you’re better for it. We’re talking salty-sweet teriyaki and umami-filled miso and mushroom, all encased in a fluffy bao bun. All you need to do? Simply microwave a few bao in a wet paper towel. Everything you could want conveniently packaged into one bite-sized dumpling? Can’t even hear the haters.
