Look, New Year’s Eve is all about excess, right? It’s a night when we all let our hair down, we have a couple of drinks, and some of us end up in a puddle on the floor, crying over a long-lost love. Who, me? Never! The point, though, is that this is a night when it doesn’t pay to be moderate, and that extends to the food we serve.
Appetizers, entrées, and desserts at New Year’s Eve parties should feel simultaneously bold and indulgent (have you tried Flamin’ Hot Dorito Chicken Tenders?), and have a mix of innovation and familiarity. And that’s why we think that Snickers Brownies are the dessert to beat this year, and the ideal way to see out 2025.
This dish is a chocolate lover’s dream: a mixture of squidgy fudge brownies, chopped-up Snickers bars, and a caramel drizzle comes together to produce a mind-blowing treat that can be eaten by friends while mingling. Although it sounds rich (and let’s be real, it is), the additional texture that the Snickers bars bring to the table stops the brownies from becoming too dense or cloying. Instead, every mouthful has a delightful crunch from the peanuts inside, keeping the brownies feeling lively and dynamic. It’s also a great way to work through any leftover candy that you have sitting in your pantry from the holiday season – although if you do happen to have any, then we seriously admire your restraint.
Snickers Brownies Aren’t Just Delicious, They’re Easy to Make
The best part about Snickers Brownies is that they don’t take a particularly high level of skill to make. If you can bake brownies, you can bake these too. You start as you normally would, by whipping up a brownie batter (we have some opinions on the best boxed brownie mix to use), and then you just have to fold in chopped Snickers pieces, mixing until they’re fully incorporated.
Then comes the fun part: Pour the Snickers-infused batter into a baking dish, and then blob the top (yes, that’s the technical term) with some caramel sauce (store bought is totally fine and we ranked the best caramel sauces to buy) and peanut butter (or almond butter). Once you’ve blobbified (another technical term) your brownies, swirl them through the top of the batter with a knife or toothpick, and then bake until just set and still fudgey. You can then finish the brownies off with a final drizzle of caramel (or dusting of Snickers seasoning), once they’re cool.

On the subject of cooling, make sure that these brownies have come down to room temperature before you slice and serve them. It might be tempting to cut them up while still piping hot, but if you do, the gooey chocolate on the inside will spill out and go absolutely everywhere. Having said this, they won’t firm up entirely, and when combined with the caramel drizzle, this is the kind of dessert you definitely need to serve with a napkin – otherwise, you’ll be faced with a constant stream of guests trying to wash their hands in your bathroom.
Pair the brownies with a light, crisp drink, like a soda-based punch or a glass of Prosecco (or cheap “Champagne,” we have opinions on the best), and see the New Year in with flair.
