Ice cream candy bars are having a real moment. First, we were blown away by the new Butterfinger ice cream bar (the 100 Grand and Baby Ruth bars were pretty good, too). And now, Snickers just dropped a full line-up of Snickers Ice Cream Minis. These are fun-size Snickers ice cream bars in five flavors: Original, Crunchy Peanut Butter, Almond, Salted Caramel, and M&M’s (the first time Snickers and M&M’s have ever collabed!).
Available NOW nationwide, you can find four out of the five of these flavors at a variety of retailers. The Snickers x M&M’s flavor, though, is a Walmart exclusive. I tasted each and every one of these chilly little bites (tough gig, I know) in order to tell you if you should seek them out.
(I’m only reviewing the new Snickers ice cream bar flavors, here. If you want to know about the original flavor, it’s good. It tastes like a big Snickers ice cream just, you know, smaller.)
- Snickers Ice Cream Minis Salted Caramel
-
Pros: I know it’s not super in vogue to count calories, but I grew up in the ‘90s so it’s baked into my being. So I couldn’t help but notice that each of these little bars is just 80 or 90 calories depending on the flavor. Great. Exactly the amount of calories I want to use up on a tasty little treat. As for pros for this Salted Caramel flavor, well, there certainly is a lot of caramel. And the crunchy, whole peanuts add great crunch.
Cons: While the caramel is standard caramel, the caramel ice cream in this bar is salted. Like, really salted. Like, too salted? I’m sure there are folks out there who like their salted caramel to be as salty as the sea, but that ain’t me.

- Snickers Crunchy Ice Cream Minis Peanut Butter
-
Pros: Now this is what I’m talking about. Gooey caramel, big ol’ peanuts, and really, really good peanut butter ice cream. PB ice cream shows up in a couple of the other Snickers ice cream bar minis, but for some reason it tasted much more peanut buttery in this iteration. The textures and flavors come together so harmoniously. I really think this is something special.
Cons: If you really want the caramel to shine, you might be disappointed by this. The caramel flavor definitely takes a backseat to the peanut butter flavors and the peanuts themselves.

- Snickers Ice Cream Minis Almond
-
Pros: With just caramel, whole almonds, vanilla ice cream, and a chocolate coating, this bar is simple, but lovely. The ice cream is fluffy, but it has a rich vanilla flavor, which goes predictably well with the caramel and crunchy almonds. This tastes the most like a classic ice cream bar.
Cons: It’s not particularly exciting, but not everyone needs to be excited. Some people should stay calm. This is the Snickers mini ice cream bar for them.

- Snickers Ice Cream Minis with M&M’s Minis
-
Pros: Now we come to the first ever Snickers x M&M’s collab. Made with M&M’s Minis (cute!), peanut butter ice cream, caramel, and chopped up peanuts, this bar is all about texture. It’s creamy and crunchy in two different ways-—you get the crackly crunch of the M&M’s Minis as well and the harder crunch from the peanut chunks. The peanut butter ice cream is more mild than in the Crunchy Peanut Butter bar, but it ends up coming off as nougat ice cream. And that’s pretty fun.
Cons: I do wish the peanut butter ice cream was a bit more flavorful but that’s because I really love good peanut butter ice cream. And I think there could be even more M&M’s Minis. But overall, for a first time collab, I think this is a success.
