Nothing gets me more energized than walking the aisles of a discount supermarket. It’s a lawless land where anything goes. On Lidl’s shelves, your favorite brands mix and mingle with brands you’ve probably never heard of. They even sell clothes, plants, and perfume, because why the hell not! And to lean further into the chaos, the German grocery store is celebrating Asian flavors this week. If you’re lucky enough to live near one of the 190-or-so Lidl stores here in the U.S., here’s what to buy at Lidl right now.
- Take Home Korean BBQ-style Beef & Noodles
-
Our Asian fest needs a main dish. There’s a lot to choose from, but I’m a real sucker for a meal kit, so this one caught my eye. Enjoy a batch of Korean BBQ-style beef and noodles in just seven minutes flat.

- Vitasia Frozen Japanese Style Mochi

If Lidl is facilitating it, then I’m leaning full-tilt into the Asian celebration with a cheeky sweet treat to end the night. Mochi is undeniably the best sweet treat. It has ice cream inside (a necessity) and dough on the outside, so you eat it without even dirtying a dish a spoon. It’s science, really.

- Frozen Mini Potato and Pea Samosas
-
Shout out to Lidl for incorporating dishes from every corner of Asia into their weekly specials. It’s a big continent but some countries’ cuisines get less play in the frozen aisle here in the U.S.A. I’m a proponent of deep-fried dumplings, regardless of origin, so these frozen samosas will be finding their way into my cart, for sure.

- Sriracha Ketchup
-
Ketchup is great and tastes good on pretty much anything. Sriracha is great and tastes good on pretty much anything—so I don’t see how you could go wrong with this hybrid of the two. A no-brainer of a Lidl snag.

- Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts
-
The chaos is never-ending, because the last item in this haul isn’t an Asian dish at all—but it’s still a timely one! Chalk it up to me being a yearner, but I’m a firm believer that the best seasonal Reese’s are Reese’s Hearts. So you could say that I’m thriving this time of the year (even if my love life isn’t).
