It’s only been a couple of years since Bloom Nutrition’s line of prebiotic sparkling energy drinks launched but we have the strongest indicator yet that they’ve made their mark on the energy drink-osphere: Guys, they’ve spawned an Aldi dupe.

You won’t even find these energy drinks on Aldi’s website yet, but their line of Vivee bevs are on shelves, as I learned from the good folks of Reddit. And how do we know Vivee is a Bloom dupe? Well, besides being prebiotic, low calorie, zero sugar, and made with natural caffeine, Vivee also happens to come in cans that look very similar to cans of Bloom. Same bold illustrations. Same color palette. Same flavors. I’m not trying to blow up Aldi’s spot here—believe me, the last thing I want is my favorite cheap grocery store to be embroiled in an expensive lawsuit in this economy—but I am politely informing you that there’s an alternative to Bloom that’s a whole dollar cheaper per can.
But are they really Bloom dupes? It’s been a minute since I tasted and ranked a bunch of the Bloom Sparkling Energy flavors, so, if I’m being perfectly honest, I can’t tell you whether these are one-to-one dupes for those bevs. What I will say is that I remember Bloom’s drinks being very sweet and having a very pronounced stevia aftertaste, and that’s the case here, too. For real, though: I think I might like these just a little bit better.
Here’s how the six flavors I bought ranked for me, from worst to best:
Vivee Raspberry Lemon: This is one of the more popular Bloom flavors. It didn’t hit for me, though, and the Vivee version isn’t my thing either.
Vivee Orange: I usually really like orange energy drinks because they typically taste like orange soda, but this one has a very artificial tasting flavor and aggressive aftertaste.
Vivee Peach Mango: Yummy peach flavor, but the mango is just a little bit stinky in your mouth.
Vivee Tropical: Tropical Vivee tastes like coconut shrimp dipped in a sweet, tangy sauce—either that or I’m just REALLY hungry.
Vivee Strawberry Watermelon: This tastes like strawberry candy with a hint of sour watermelon on the finish. Not bad!
Vivee Cherry Lime: This doesn’t taste like lime at all, but it tastes like a pretty damn good cherry soda.
Verdict:
Bloom dupe? I mean, pretty damn close. And at $1.50 a can, pretty damn close is close enough, right?
