The alternative title for this was going to be “Billie Eilish might shop at the same Costco as me and we’ve sadly never bumped into each other.” There aren’t that many Costcos in the Los Angeles area, so the odds are in my favor. Though she is a passionate vegan, so we’ll have to find something else to share besides the $1.50 hot dog combo.

But I digress. I’m here to tell you about a Costco product that Billie called her “FAVORITE IN THE WORLD.”

So, what’s Billie’s actual Costco favorite?

The Grammy/Oscar/Golden Globe winner’s favorite pantry staple, and secret weapon in her vegan, gluten-free, peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, is none other than Costco’s Kirkland Signature Organic Creamy Peanut Butter.

A fan-favorite product that’s about to get all the more popular

Billie’s not the only one who loves this stuff. On Costco’s website, it currently has more than 3k 5-star reviews. Why do people love it? Here are some reasons:

“The taste is superior to processed peanut butters and, while smooth not crunchy, it’s a bit gritty due to only having peanuts and some sea salt.”

“I LOVE this organic peanut butter because it is not nearly as runny as other brands of ‘natural, organic’ peanut butter.”

BEST TASTING PEANUT BUTTER I HAVE EVER HAD. GREAT JOB KIRKLAND !!!!!!!

The caveat: This is natural peanut butter, so it separates. It needs to be stirred well to incorporate the peanut puree and the oil, and stirring peanut butter isn’t exactly easy. One commenter has a clever hack: “These are sold as a twin-pack, so we dump both jars into a large bowl, beat it on low/medium with our electric hand mixer, and then pour it back into the jars and store them in the fridge. They stay creamy and nice and do not separate at all.”

The other caveat is that, well, sometimes you can find the things you love at Costco and sometimes you can’t. Last year, Kirkland Creamy Peanut Butter was temporarily discontinued because of an issue with the supplier. It’s back in stores now, so it would make sense to stock up!

I got the peanut butter, now where’s the recipe?

Billie used to store her recipe in an Instagram highlight that’s since been deleted. Thankfully, nothing truly ever dies on the internet, so I was able to dig up the recipe. Just because you’re getting the peanut butter doesn’t quite mean you need to make a Costco-sized batch of cookies—you’ll want to have some of this PB left over for sandwiches, too.
