They came for your snacks. They came for your pizza. They came for your ramen. And now, they’re coming for your cocktails. By “they,” we of course mean Big Protein, the shadowy organization that definitely exists and which we can only assume is the driving force behind absolutely everything having higher protein levels these days. Worried about becoming deficient? Honestly, if you eat any processed food, there’s very little chance of that happening, because it’s everywhere.

Want proof? Check out Buffalo Wild Wings’ new cocktail… which has protein added to it. Was this necessary? Absolutely not. Will people like it? We have no idea. Are we gonna talk about it? Of course we are. Here’s everything we know.

Okay, Spill: What’s in This Drink?

The Buffalo Wild Wings Espresso Proteini is, essentially, a bulked-up version of a regular Espresso Martini. The drink starts with all of its standard ingredients (vodka, liqueur, espresso), and then throws in some Muscle Milk Protein Powder to give it some extra bulking abilities. We’re guessing that it’ll also give it a touch of extra creaminess, which may not be a bad thing – but we’re going to reserve judgment on that one.

Oh, and that’s not the only thing that’s going on here: The Epresso Proteini is also infused with Buffalo Dry Rub, with a touch of the rub on the rim to finish it off. I just…don’t know about this one, guys. Call me old-fashioned. But this is a lot.

When Can I Try It?

Well, you’ve only got a couple of days. Buffalo Wild Wings has said that its Espresso Proteini is only available from Friday, March 13, through Sunday, March 15 (the latter being National Espresso Martini Day, which we will personally be celebrating with a regular version of the drink). It’s also only available at select locations nationwide, so call ahead if you want to try it.

How Much Will This Drink Set Me Back?

Buffalo Wild Wings’ Espresso Proteini costs $12 if you grab it on its own, or you can combine it with a six-count of boneless wings for $20. A lot more expensive than a protein shake, but you can’t deny it’s more interesting.

Why on Earth Would I Want To Try It?

We…don’t know. Sheer curiosity? Honestly, my interest has definitely been piqued by this drink, although at the time of writing this article (which is the first thing in the morning), it’s making me feel just a little queasy.

However, it’s not exactly unusual in the year of our lord 2026 for chains to be pumping out protein drinks: Starbucks has recently been plugging its bottled protein beverages pretty hard, and there are new protein smoothies wherever you turn. So, we guess if you wanted to tick off liquid-based protein options from restaurants everywhere, then it’s time to head down to BWW.
