If you’re a loyal Aldi shopper, you’ve probably heard the rumors already: Apparently, Aldi is selling pizza soup. Pizza, but soup. Soup, but pizza. And it comes in what looks like a Capri-Sun pouch?? And it’s gluten free? The inventions of modern man never cease to astound me.

But believe it or not, Aldi isn’t the first grocery store to sell this mysterious pizza soup… and we already tried it for ourselves, many moons ago.

Proper Good Pizza Soup can now be found at Aldi stores. But it was at Walmart first—and we taste-tested it way back in 2024

The verdict: With bold Italian herbs and yummy pepperoni chunks, this is much more than what we were initially expecting (an average tomato soup with some cheese thrown in). But it’s a bit too sweet. The added sugar takes away from the savory pepperoni pizza of it all. We gave it 7/10 Sporks, which honestly ain’t bad.

The same brand also sells Cheeseburger Soup, by the way. It’s unclear if you can find it at Aldi, though. We liked that one okay, too. It had big hunks of beef and potato and more balanced spices. It tasted fine, but it just wasn’t giving cheeseburger vibes.

We’re professional taste testers and sometimes enjoy the oddball product… but what are Aldi shoppers saying?

I’ve been peeping the Reddit forums, and the general public doesn’t seem super enthused. One commenter said they don’t care if people say it’s amazing, they would never buy it. Another says it tastes like AI slop. Even though we liked it just fine, that’s kinda clever, not gonna lie. But hey, maybe don’t knock it until you try it?

Sadly, I can never move back to my home state, Florida, because even if the seafood is totally unmatched, there aren’t enough Mediterranean or Korean restaurants to keep me sane.
