It’s creatine’s world, and we’re all living in it. Over the last few years, this natural compound has become exponentially more popular amongst gym bunnies, as more and more people have realized its potential to improve workout performance and help you gain muscle. However, while taking it isn’t exactly difficult (you just stir a bit of powder into your food or protein shake), up until now, creatine monohydrate has been kept from being premixed into workout drinks in the same way that other supplements are, due to its degradability.

Well, that’s all changed, thanks to Prime. The viral drink brand, with its wild array of flavors, has just announced its new Prime Shake + Creatine, which is destined to be in the meaty paw of a gym bro near you very soon. Here’s what we know.
Want Some Gains, Bruh?
Prime Shake + Creatine is an extension of its recent Prime Protein Shake, a canned drink that contains 32 grams of protein per serving, and which has predictably been a big success for the brand. Its new shake has the same amount of protein, but throws in 3 grams of creatine (which is on the lower end of what experts recommend taking each day to boost performance) for good measure. As @stack3dnews reports, the drink contains 160 calories and has no added sugar. Each shake is made with lactose-free, ultra-filtered milk and has zero grams of fat.
Prime keeps the creatine in its shake from breaking down through something it’s calling CreaShield, which apparently protects it when mixed with liquid. It’s not entirely clear what CreaShield is or how it works, but in doing this, Prime has solved a problem that’s plagued energy and protein drink companies for a while. Brands like Bang have previously made drinks that are marketed as having creatine, but which actually contained something called creatyl-l-leucine, which isn’t actually the same. As such, Prime has cornered the market with this one.
Which Flavors of Prime Shake + Creatine Are Available?
Well, you have three options, but sadly, none of them are available. In typical Prime fashion, each of its three options is listed as sold out on its website. This brand is very well-versed in the art of using viral hype to drain its stock quickly, only to then build even more hype when they come back, so we wouldn’t be surprised if this is all just a big tactic.
When they are back in stock, though, you can choose from Vanilla, Cookies + Cream, and Chocolate. Until then, you’ll have to find your protein-supplement combos from different sources. If you’re in the market for a hit of caffeine, Premier Protein has just launched a Coffeehouse-inspired flavor, which could be up your street, and you can always just take your creatine separately. Anything to get that pump.
