This is the year of the value meal. Almost all the major fast food chains have been locked in a battle to provide new, affordable menu options, in the face of the ever-skyrocketing cost of living (apart from Chipotle, which instead is going for slightly gimmicky BOGO deals involving hockey jerseys to draw in customers). From Taco Bell to Wendy’s, these restaurants simply can’t stop themselves from giving you deals, in a bid to get you through their doors.

Well, McDonald’s wasn’t going to be the odd one out, was it? We previously brought you the news that it was introducing a new value menu, and now we’ve got all the details on what said menu is going to contain when it launches on April 21. Let’s break it all down.
$3 McValue Menu
The flagship offer here will be its $3 McValue Menu, which will contain at least 10 items across both its breakfast menu and its regular one. For breakfast, you can grab a Sausage McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit, or Sausage Burrito for under $3, and its Hash Browns and McCafé Premium Roast Coffee (in a medium size) will also be at or below that price point.
Then, as we ease on into the lunch and dinner portions of the day, you’ve got its McChicken, McDouble, Chicken McNuggets in a 4-piece portion, or a small fries for under $3. You can also grab one of its medium soft drinks for the same price.
Plus, McDonald’s has said that it’ll be periodically slashing the prices of some of its most popular menu items, and has given examples like its Sausage McMuffin dropping to $1.50, and its McDouble dropping down to $2.50. The core McValue Menu, though, will be available every day.
$4 McValue Meal Deal
At the slightly higher price of $4 will sit its new breakfast McValue Meal Deal, which is a carry-over from its regular menu to the earlier portions of the day. McDonald’s customers will be able to order its Sausage McMuffin or Sausage Biscuit with a portion of Hash Browns and a small McCafé coffee for $4.
$5 Lunch and Dinner Meal Deals
Then, McDonald’s is also continuing its meal deals in its main menu, with said deals starting at $5. At present, you can grab a McChicken Meal Deal for $5 or a McDouble Meal Deal for $6, and with each you’ll get a 4-pack of nuggets, a small fries, and a small drink.
A Valuable Proposition
McDonald’s USA’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, Alyssa Buetikofer, said in a statement that the brand’s McValue menu is an extension of its core, well, values as a brand. “For generations, McDonald’s has been committed to delivering great value our fans can count on,” Buetikofer said. “As our customers’ expectations evolve, we’re making it easier for them to get the value they’re looking for – on their terms. McValue offers more choice, more flexibility and more ways to build a meal that fits their day and budget.”
