There’s nothing small about Little Debbie’s ambitions. The snack cake brand may have a cozy, homely image, but under all that is a keen sense of business nous and a willingness to innovate to compete. So far, in 2026, it’s been busy: We recently discussed its spring line-up, which included six returning favorites and a new item, and we’ve also touched on the makeover of its product line by removing synthetic dyes from its food. Never a dull moment with Debbie, guys.

Now, it’s going even harder. McKee Foods, the company that owns the Little Debbie brand, has just announced that it’s bringing soft-baked cookies to the snack aisle for the first time. You’d better watch your back, Chips Ahoy. Here’s what we know.

Little Debbie Soft Baked Cookies

Little Debbie’s new Soft Baked Cookies are a mix-up of its typical filled cookie line, and will offer its customers more variety and (hopefully) more flavor. “Little Debbie has long been known for creme-filled cookies. Now we are offering new traditional Soft Baked Cookies that deliver the soft, satisfying texture today’s consumers want,” said McKee Foods’ associate brand manager, Chuck Clevenger, in a press release. “By combining a bakery-style experience with the convenience of a 3 oz. individually-wrapped package, we’ve created a treat that is perfect for any on-the-go snacking occasion.”

That “bakery-style experience” is something that a lot of retailers and manufacturers are trying to achieve at the moment, and we suspect that the rise of places like Crumbl has a lot to do with it. More and more cookie producers are leaning into that soft-baked, slightly more bespoke vibe (like the new Crumbl dupe available at Walmart). We doubt there will be anything bespoke at all about Little Debbie’s Soft Baked Cookies – they’re clearly gonna be mass-produced, and more in the vein of Chips Ahoy’s Big Chewy Cookies – but we see the vision.

What Flavors Are Available?

Little Debbie is kicking off its Soft Baked Cookie line with two options: A Chocolate Chip Cookie and a Peanut Butter Cookie. They both look to be pretty standard, unchallenging affairs, but hey, we don’t exactly rely on this brand to push the boat out that much, do we? It’s all about comfort and keeping things relatively simple, and it’s done that here.

When Can I Get Them?

Little Debbie is launching its new Soft Baked Cookies this month, but it kept a little bit tight-lipped about exactly when this month they’re gonna drop. We did a little digging on a few of the major retailers’ websites, and so far, they’re not listed anywhere, so we may be a week or two off their arrival. When they do drop, though, we’d expect them to be available in most places that stock Little Debbie products. Keep your ear to the ground, and your eyes on the shelves.
