See's Candies x McConnell's Ice Cream Collab Going Nationwide

It’s like taking candy from a baby… then putting that candy in delicious ice cream.

Last year, See’s Candies partnered with California-based McConnell’s Ice Cream shops to release a line of ice cream pints that contained See’s delicious candy treats. The only downside is that, since McConnell’s only has shops in California, most of America had to miss out on these delectable frozen treats. But now, they’re finally getting a nationwide release, and here’s how to find them!

What are the flavors?

Vanilla with California Brittle

They describe this flavor as “See’s buttery almond brittle – covered in rich, dark chocolate – is the perfect match to McC’s classic, full-flavored (R.R. Lochhead) Vanilla ice cream. Topped off with even more crunchy, salt-roasted almonds and ribbons of chocolate ganache.”

Banana Cream with Toffee-ettes

McConnell’s describes this flavor as: “Ripe bananas, pureed into Central Coast milk & cream, a salted caramel swirl, and handfuls of See’s legendary Toffee-ettes – roasted almonds, embedded in rich, Danish butter toffee, enrobed in See’s creamy, milk chocolate (rolled in even more crunchy almonds!).”

Chocolate with Polar Bear Paws

The See’s Polar Bear Paw is kind of like a turtle, but with white chocolate instead of dark. It’s caramel with salt-roasted peanuts, covered in white chocolate. For this flavor, those candies are churned into McConnell’s Dutchman’s Chocolate ice cream and joined by a peanut butter swirl.

See’s Candies Brown Sugar with Milk Bordeaux

If you’ve never had a See’s Bordeaux, you need to fix that immediately. This ice cream, made with See’s most beloved chocolates, has a brown sugar ice cream base mixed with chunks of Bordeaux truffles, chocolate sprinkles, and brown sugar swirls.

Where can you find them?

While this collaboration was originally limited to the McConnell’s Ice Cream Shops, and later available at some Western supermarket chains like Gelson’s and Safeway, they’ve now been picked up by Whole Foods, making them available across the country. Though, after browsing a few Whole Foods locations across the country, it seems like Vanilla with California Brittle is the most commonly available. Fingers crossed the rest of the flavors make their way to freezers soon!
