So, I’m gonna be honest with you, guys: I know nothing about F1. I know what it is, obviously, and I know that there are some massive stars in the sport, including the UK’s own Lando Norris. But aside from that? I don’t really know how it works, the ins and outs of the scoring system, or anything like that. And I’m okay with that.

What I do know is that F1, and racing cars in general, are lucrative things for food brands to create partnerships with. As such, recently we’ve seen racing wheel-shaped Barilla pasta and Kit Kat turning a F1 car into a chocolate bar, and we’ve also seen a Monster Energy drink, released with Norris himself. Now, that drink is being gold-plated, y’all. Here’s what you should know.

Go For Gold, Lando

The first thing you should bear in mind here is that we’re not talking about a new drink: Lando Norris Monster Energy has been around for months. This melon yuzu flavored beverage was released in the UK last year, and we managed to get our hands on a can and try it (by heading to Ireland, no less), before it was eventually brought to the US in early 2026. The drink itself is good: Sweet, bright, and melon-y. It may not have that much yuzu flavor to it, but it’s a perfectly serviceable energy drink.

Here’s the kicker, though. The can that it normally comes in is green. Green! Clearly, that’s not befitting of Norris’ winning status. As such, Monster is now bringing out a gold version of the can, which will be dropping at Silverstone (according to @caffeinexchaos on Instagram), home of the British Grand Prix, this year. This, as expected, is a limited-edition can, and it’s probably not going to be that widely available, so it’ll become quite a collector’s item.

And People Are Excited?

Oh, they’re excited. Again, I know nothing about F1, but I am aware of the passion of its fanbase, and the news of Norris being celebrated in such a fashion has gone down well. My boi Lando Norris is finally getting the gold can for getting the F1 World Driver’s Championship 2025. I’m so excited,” said one person on Reddit, with others pitching in to say how much they like the flavor of the drink itself. Another person on @caffeinexchaos’ post said: “I will literally pay someone to bring one back to America for me.” Anyone heading to Silverstone this year, that could be a nifty little earner for ya.
