Halloween may feel like it was approximately two weeks ago, but that’s just middle age messing with your mind, man. Halloween was six months ago! And that means roughly six months from now it will be Halloween again! It’s too soon to start planning your costume—given the pace at which the internet moves, believe me, no one is going to remember that niche meme from April—but it’s not too soon to start pining for what’s gonna land in your little pumpkin-shaped plastic bucket. In fact, Mars just revealed its whole Halloween lineup, and it includes some new Halloween candy we can’t wait to try.

New Twix, new Skittles, and new Snickers!

Assuming we’re all still here come October, Mars has some spooky stuff in store. Along with a bunch of returning faves—including Pumpkin Pie M&M’s, nbd—the iconic candy brand has three new candies coming down the pike: Skittles Pop’d Creepy Crunch, Twix Skulls, and Snickers Fun-Size Pumpkins.

Skittle’s Pop’d Creepy Crunch

If you’re not familiar with Skittle’s Pop’d, they’re Skittles but freeze-dried, so they’re crunchy and rather than chewy. The brand describes Creepy Crunch as a flavor, but they don’t say what flavor it actually is. Based on the imagery they’ve released, these freeze-dried Skittles are purple inside, so my bet is on a berry of some sort.

Twix Skulls

If fruity candies aren’t your bag, then, hey, there’s a new Twix shape! Twix Skulls come individually wrapped, and they have spooky gaping eyeholes and big chompy teeth. We haven’t been huge fans of Twix’s seasonal shapes—Easter baskets, snowmen, Santa heads, etc.—because the chocolate-caramel-cookie ratios are always a little bit off, but that won’t stop us from trying these.

Fun Size Snickers Pumpkins

Lastly, we’re getting Snickers Pumpkins, but fun size. In the past, they were full-size candies that weren’t really suited to the trick-or-treat scene (unless you’re the big house on the street handing out full-size candy bars), but now there will be a mini version you won’t mind handing out to young strangers.

What other Halloween candy can we look forward to?

There’s a lot! For trick-or-treat purposes, Mars is releasing a variety pack with original AND Wild Berry Skittles, along with both original Starburst and FaveReds. And Skittles is expanding its fun-size bags to include Skittles Sour (aka our favorite sour candy) and Skittles Gummies. Skittles Shriekers are coming back, too! If you’re all about M&M’s, keep an eye out for those Pumpkin Pie M&M’s, as well as their Halloween-themed bags in original, Peanut, and Peanut Butter.

And only six months to wait!

Gwynedd Stuart

Howdy! I’m Gwynedd, Sporked’s managing editor. I live in Los Angeles and have access to the best tacos the U.S. has to offer—but I’m a sucker for a crunchy Old El Paso taco night every now and then. I’ve been at Sporked since 2022 and I’m still searching frozen mozzarella sticks that can hold a candle to restaurant sticks. Why you should trust me: I’ve been a journalist for 20 years (yikes), a consumer of food for 40-plus years, and I’m truly hard pressed to think of foods I don’t like (or that I can’t tolerate at the very least). Oh and one time I cooked my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbook and wrote about the journey through Flavortown. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s Original Savory Thins. Fat free plain yogurt (usually Fage or Nancy’s). Honeycrisp apples. Sweet cream coffee creamer for my at-home Americanos. A frozen cauliflower crust pizza and some jarred mushrooms to top it with. Old El Paso Stand ‘N Stuff taco shells and Gardein Ground Be’f, even though I think “be’f” is a nightmarish contraction. Favorite ranking: Stouffer’s frozen dinners. I don’t own a microwave (I get my cancers the old fashioned way!), so I love taste testing things that I don’t really buy to eat at home. Least favorite ranking: Soy sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love soy sauce—but consuming that much sodium in one sitting is probably illegal in some countries. Our frozen enchilada taste test was a close second; the smell of microwaved corn tortillas still haunts me.
