One thing that Pringles will be doing, seemingly until the end of time, is putting meat flavors into its chips. You’re never far away from some newfangled, meat-based flavor adorning these little curved snacks, and the brand is getting increasingly ambitious as time goes on: So far this year, we’ve had pulled pork Pringles at Walmart, and Chicken Royale-flavored Pringles over here in the UK. What a time to be alive, huh?

Now, we’re getting another meat-centric option, just in time for summer. Customers have started spotting Italian Meatball Pringles in stores and online, and honestly, they sound pretty good right now. Discuss? Oh, we’ll discuss.

Italian Meatball Pringles

Word of the existence of Italian Meatball Pringles started reaching the internet in the last 24 hours or so, with The Impulsive Buy posting that they’d been spotted at Shaw’s. We can confirm they’re also now on the Shaw’s website, where they’re listed for delivery and pickup – and they’re also listed on Instacart

As is so often the case with Pringles, the release of this new can wasn’t accompanied by any official announcement (the brand just loves for their new products to appear in thin air, like apparitions), so we don’t have a company-approved brief on the flavor profile. The ingredients list doesn’t reveal too much either – and Pringles ingredients lists are generally pretty baffling, and a surefire way to make you second-guess what you’re actually eating (we were hankering for a bit of disodium inosinate today, so thank god it’s in these chips!). By the label, though, customers can expect, or hope for, meat, basil, and tomato notes. There’s also the smallest suggestion of spaghetti peeking out of the bowl on its cover art, but given that most spaghetti, in its plain form, doesn’t taste of much at all, this probably isn’t going to be the presiding note.

So, We Don’t Know What They Taste Like Yet?

No, I’m afraid we don’t – these things have just started showing up, so we don’t have any fan reactions just yet. My guess, though, is that they’ll probably be pretty close to pizza-flavored chips (which Quest recently put out a protein version of), but with a slightly meatier tang. That means it can go one of two ways: These Pringles will taste vaguely like tomato paste and slight smokiness, or they’ll go full-throttle on flavor and be a winner. We’ll have to wait and see.

In the mood for another chip-meal mashup? Kellanova has also just revealed that its Spicy Loaded Nachos Pringles will be back for another year, this time in honor of the World Cup. The football tournament has made it a busy time in the chip world, what with Lay’s releasing 40 new flavors internationally and all. Good time to be into potatoes.
