Marie Callender’s Might Be About to Take-On an Iconic Hostess Staple

One of the most beloved pie manufacturers out there is Marie Callender’s, which has a wide range of frozen pies and mini pies for you to thaw and serve at home. But one thing they haven’t offered are small, snack-sized pies.

However, it looks like they’ll finally be releasing two new hand pies that would fit that bill. Here’s what we’ve heard, and when they might be coming to your store.

Here’s Marie Callender’s Rumored Hand Pies

Now, Marie Callender’s hasn’t announced any hand pie plans, but back in February, rumors started to spread that they had announced these new pies as part of a presentation at an industry event.

That rumor came with a mocked-up picture of two pies in the line. According to the packaging, the pies would be small, 3oz closed pies – like an empanada – sold in four-pack boxes. They also wouldn’t be ready-to-eat, but rather frozen pies that you would either bake or put in an air fryer. The two flavors shown were:

• Salted Caramel Apple
• Cherry Berry

Now, we still haven’t heard official confirmation that these pies are coming, but food Instagrammer candyhunting is reporting that these will be hitting stores later this year.

Personally, I can’t wait to try them, as they seem like better quality versions of the Hostess Fruit Pies I used to devour as a kid.
