Oh, you thought Taco Bell was done this year? No, no – it’s still making moves. The ever-prolific restaurant chain’s first half of 2026 was unlike anything we’d ever seen, if we’re considering pure busyness. It felt like we were covering stories on it every day as it released and tested a never-ending flurry of new items, and as we worked our way through its Luxe Value menu in March and discussed its returning Chicken Caesar Dorito Burrito in April, the news just kept on comin’.

And it continues, people, it continues. Taco Bell has just announced that it’s bringing back its fan-favorite Shredded Beef Dipping Taco, just in time for summer – and it’s got a new item in the form of its Shredded Beef Nacho Fries. Let’s dive in.
Taco Bell Shredded Beef Dipping Taco
First off, the taco. The return of Taco Bell’s Shredded Beef Dipping Taco was announced in a press release yesterday, and we think more than a few people will be very excited about its return. This birria-inspired taco is a mixture of slow-braised shredded beef, a three-cheese blend, and jalapeño sauce tucked into a grilled cheese-crusted tortilla, and it’s served with a cup of red sauce to dunk in.
The Shredded Beef Dipping Taco first dropped a few years ago, and while it initially received a chilly response, a second wave of people arrived to defend it, with gusto. “It is one of the greatest things I have tasted at Taco Bell,” said one customer on Reddit, who also called people out for being too harsh on it. The main issue people had with this dipping taco, it seems, was that their local stores were building it poorly, preventing them from properly enjoying it. We hope that Taco Bell has figured that out by now. The taco is available for $3.99, although this may vary depending on location.
Taco Bell Shredded Beef Nacho Fries
If you weren’t content with shredded beef in taco form, then you can have it in nacho form. Taco Bell’s Shredded Beef Nacho Fries are a new dish, and are, at first, a simple combo of the beef that goes in the dipping tacos and its Nacho Fries. Then, it’s hit with pico de gallo, a three-cheese blend, nacho cheese sauce, and jalapeño sauce. This one costs $5.49, although again, this may vary by location.
When Can I Get These?
Right now! Both the Shredded Beef Dipping Taco and the Shredded Beef Nacho Fries dropped today, May 21, at participating locations nationwide. They’re only around for a limited time, though, so get ‘em while you can.
