We sure hope that you’re not sick of the word “swicy” just yet, because it’s not going anywhere. Swicy foods – ie, products and dishes that combine sweetness and spice in the same bite – have been everywhere this year, and the flavor duo has been showing up in unexpected places. Yes, we’ve seen swicy menu items from the likes of Chipotle and Jack in the Box, where you might expect them a little more, but we’ve also had swicy Peeps and swicy energy drinks. People can’t get enough of this sensory sensation.

And now, we’ve got swicy lobster rolls, courtesy of Tabasco and Saltie Girl. The hot sauce brand has collaborated with the seafood bar to create this summer’s must-have bite, and it’s available now. Here’s what you need to know.
Saltie Girl x Tabasco Sauce Lobster Roll
Tabasco and Saltie Girl’s new lobster roll dropped on May 22 at Saltie Girl’s two locations in Boston and Los Angeles. This sandwich is loaded with fresh, premium lobster mixed not just with Tabasco sauce, but with curry flavors, which gives it even more spice and an aromatic quality – and which stops it from just being hot. Then, crispy shallots and fresh micro cilantro are piled on top, giving the roll a boost of freshness, umami, and crunch. It’s served with potato chips.
Saltie Girl’s classic lobster rolls already feel elevated, so this Tabasco collab is an exciting prospect for what is already quite a special sandwich. The seafood bar’s lobster rolls typically come in a toasted brioche bun and are drizzled with buerre blanc. This place knows how to do things right.
How Long Will It Be Available? And How Much Does It Cost?
Luckily, for quite a while! The Saltie Girl x Tabasco Sauce Lobster Roll will be available through Labor Day Monday, so you have a good couple of months to try it. However, once it’s gone, it’s gone, so don’t miss out. It is worth mentioning, though, that this lobster roll is not cheap by any stretch. At its Boston location, the Saltie Girl x Tabasco Sauce Lobster Roll costs $44.
Interestingly, this is the second Tabasco collab we’ve seen in just a few weeks, indicating that the hot sauce brand is looking to push out into new realms. We recently reported on Old El Paso and Tabasco’s Stand ‘N Stuff Taco Shells and seasoning mix, which are rolling out now. It’s gonna be a spicy summer.
