Utz’s Most Interesting Potato Chip Flavor Yet Is Back

Remember when Utz brought out a lemonade flavor? Remember how we all cocked our heads sideways, like curious dogs, and went “huh. Now that sounds like it wouldn’t work at all.” And then do you remember how it kind of…did work?

Oh, you don’t remember any of that? To be honest, that’s totally understandable. But we remember. Last year, Utz Lemonade Chips hit the snack aisle for a limited time, and we got our hands on them – and somewhat against the odds, they worked! And for Utz, they clearly worked well enough for the snack company to bring them back, ‘cos they’re having another spin. 

Utz Lemonade Chips & Sizzlin’ Summer Burger Ripples

Utz announced the grand return of its Lemonade Chips last week, confirming in a press release that the sweet-and-sour snack will once again be a limited-time deal (not a huge surprise for anyone, we’d imagine, but you never know what these snack companies will decide is permanent or not). We can see why: Last year, they generated over $1 million in sales in the brief time they were around.

It also stated that it would once again partner with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer and donate a portion of chip sales to the organization. Up to $40,000 will be donated to the Foundation, an increase from its $25,000 last year. 

Alongside the announcement confirming that Lemonade Chips are back, Utz also revealed the release of a new flavor: Sizzlin’ Summer Burger flavored Ripples Potato Chips. According to Allrecipes, these cookout-inspired chips really do hit those burger flavor notes, with smokiness, beef, ketchup, mustard, dill pickles, cheese, and even (somehow) lettuce. We’re really feeling the poolside vibe of these chips; they’d taste very good soundtracked by the gentle notes of lapping water against bright blue tiles. Before someone cannonballs and drenches everyone.

Where Can I Get Them? And Do I Want To Try Them?

Utz Lemonade Chips and Sizzlin’ Summer Burger Ripples are available now, and we would imagine they will be for at least the early summer months. You can find them at major retailers like Walmart and Kroger, where they’re available in 2.625-ounce and 7.75-ounce bags.

As for whether you want to try them…well, that’s entirely up to you, folks. Personally, though, given the distinctly summery vibes of these snacks, and the fact that the Lemonade Chips hit so hard last year — we’d say that they’re worth your time. C’mon. Lemonade chips? Chips that taste like burger toppings? We’re spoilt here.
