Pillsbury’s New Cookie Dough Could Be A New Fan Favorite

Pillsbury, we thank you for your service. Your service to the baked goods and frozen sections, that is. Pillsbury’s been on a good run lately with new items (although, when is it not trying to bring out the latest sugar-and-flour-based smash hit?), with its July 4-themed treats and its collaboration with a major name in the hot honey world. And it’s just announced a new cookie dough that’s got its fans very worked up, without even trying the damn thing first. Such is the power of a sweet treat. Let’s check it out. 

Pillsbury’s New Big Bookies Brown Butter Chocolate Lovers Dough

With a name as voluminous as (hopefully) the cookies themselves, Pillsbury’s new Big Cookies Brown Butter Chocolate Lovers dough has just been announced by the brand over on Instagram. The carousel post itself was, I must say, pretty smart, featuring the Pillsbury Doughboy walking across a massive cookie in picture after picture. Nice work from the Pillsbury social media team there.

But to the dough itself! The Big Cookies Brown Butter Chocolate Lovers dough will center, as you might expect, around a brown butter flavor, and if Pillsbury gets this one right, then it’ll be nutty and caramel-inflected (and hopefully, with no burnt notes). The cookie also contains chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, and white chocolate morsels, according to its product listing on the Pillsbury website. One package will make six cookies, which could be on the table in around 20 minutes.

And People Are Excited?

Oh, they’re excited. They’re excited without even having tried the damn things! “NEEEDDDDD!!” said one commenter on Pillsbury’s Insta post, accompanied by four shocked face emojis and four love heart eyes emojis (and yes, I believe those are the official names for both of those). The general feeling is one of excitement, hope, and a better cookie-bound future. We all need a little bit of that in this day and age, don’t we, folks? Right? …Right?

As for when they’ll actually arrive on our shelves, that much is as yet unclear. However, Pillsbury has said that they’ll be available at Walmart – and that could well be an exclusive deal. As long as they can emulate the glory of Pillsbury’s Ready to Bake Reese’s Mini Pieces Peanut Butter dough, which we rated the best Pillsbury ready-to-bake cookies of all time, then we’re sure people won’t mind having to make the trip for them.
