A couple of months back, Aldi announced that things were changing, in a good way. The retailer stated that it would be removing 44 ingredients from its foods in a bid to make its food simpler and use fewer additives, and would aim to do so by the end of 2027. That’s a change that pretty much everyone can get behind – but other changes it’s been making have been received less well by its customers.

Sadly, there’s been a lot of the latter recently. Yesterday, we brought you the news that Aldi might have changed the recipe for its granola bars, and now, people have questioned whether they’ve altered the formula for another beloved item. Guess sausage is off the menu, folks.
Parkview Beef Smoked Sausage: Not What It Used To Be
A couple of days ago, an Aldi customer on Reddit posted a warning to others about the supermarket’s Parkview Beef Smoked Sausage, with the thread using the completely unambiguous title “DO NOT BUY,” complete with a nauseous-face emoji. The customer elaborated on how the sausage had changed, saying that “the texture is sandy and extremely dense? In a weird way. And it smells awful, nothing like it was before.” They went on to say that they didn’t even want to give it to their son, such was the off-putting nature of the sausage. Damning stuff.
This customer wasn’t the only person to notice the difference. Another Aldi fan piped up in the comment section, saying that they used to buy the Parkview Beef Smoked Sausage all the time, but that it’s definitely changed – in a bad way. Others said that when they found bone fragments in the sausage they bought…hey, Aldi, if you’re looking to revamp your items by changing up their ingredients, you kinda need to make them better.
Guess That’s How The Sausage Is Made…
In the same thread, Aldi customers stated that the Parkview Beef Smoked Sausage wasn’t the sole meat item they’d noticed a change in. Apparently, Aldi’s Parkview Turkey Polska Keilbasa has also gone the same way. As with the beef sausage, people have found bone fragments and pieces of cartilage inside, and that the taste has changed – and, as with that former sausage, it was described as “awful.” Jeez. It’s not going great over in Aldi’s sausage section, huh? It’s unclear whether these alleged changes were due to Aldi trying to improve its ingredient lists for both (if so, it might have backfired), or to a supplier change — but either way, people aren’t pleased.
