I’m still not over the ingenuity of Cheez-It teaming up with a beer company to make beer cheese flavored crackers. It’s such a perfect fit. This should have happened ages ago. Yet, I’m thankful it didn’t because maybe that would have meant I would have missed out on it. Born too late to explore the earth, born too early to explore space, born just in time to try Cheez-It x Coors Light beer cheese crackers.

Here’s What We Think

Pros: Oh my word. There is flavor to be found! It smacks you right in the face. Actually, right in the eyes. That is, you can see the flavor blasted-ness of these crackers from the moment you open the bag. Truthfully, I’m not exactly sure how a beer cheese cracker comes with all this much flavor, but I’m not mad about it. Perhaps being from the Midwest (where we can be a little light with our spices) I’m not used to what beer cheese can bring to the table.

What you end up getting is a truly satisfying bite that delivers a savory, tangy sauce profile that’s backed up with a blanket of spicy warmth. The flavor hits hard and lasts a while. The result is a craveable experience that actually has me walking back into the kitchen for more. I guess that’s what I get for trying to be modest with my initial serving size.

The flavor profile is more reminiscent of a cheesy pub mix than actual beer cheese. While this is probably an overall con for the crackers, the end result is a resounding pro. These Cheez-Its are a must-buy for any party, BBQ, or football hang that you have coming up.

The spice and warmth leave a residual tingle on the tongue that would pair so nicely with a beer that’s as cold as the Rockies to cool things down. Thankfully, I know just the beer for the job. How convenient!

Cons: Ironically, these aren’t giving all that much beer. You get a tinge of it at the beginning, but the cheese and spices definitely overpower the beer. A sad bit of news for Coors Light but as a non-beer guy myself, I couldn’t be happier. Like I mentioned before, we should count the flavor miss as a con. I’ll definitely knock off a spork for not meeting the promise of a beer cheese flavored cracker. Holy hell am I overall happy with the outcome, though.
